Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and results-oriented Financial Reporting Manager to ensure the accurate, compliant, and timely preparation of financial reports. You will play a critical role in maintaining accounting integrity, overseeing regulatory compliance, and providing expert advisory services to our clients, including guidance on complex financial matters and emerging sustainability reporting frameworks.

Requirements:

• Financial Statement Oversight: Manage the preparation and accuracy of financial statements (balance sheets, income statements, cash flow, and notes) in strict accordance with IFRS, GAAP, and other relevant frameworks.

• Compliance & Regulatory Management: Ensure all financial reporting adheres to legal, tax, and industry-specific regulations.

• Audit Facilitation: Lead external audit engagements by managing documentation, responding to auditor inquiries, and ensuring seamless audit readiness.

• Strategic Advisory: Act as a subject matter expert, providing clients with technical accounting guidance on revenue recognition, lease accounting, and financial instruments.

• Process Improvement: Implement and optimize financial reporting systems and internal processes to drive operational efficiency and compliance.

• Integrated & Sustainability Reporting: Plan and execute comprehensive financial, sustainability, and integrated reports.

• Leadership & Development: Manage and mentor a team of reporting specialists, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional excellence.

• Industry Trends: Stay updated on evolving financial and sustainability reporting standards, proactively communicating their impact to the firm and our clients.

• Business Growth: Identify and capitalize on opportunities to expand the firm’s service offerings within the sustainability and integrated reporting sectors.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field (Minimum Second Class Upper or Upper Credit).

• Advanced Education: Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA).

• Professional Certification: Membership with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) or an equivalent professional body.

• Experience:

  • Minimum of 7+ years in financial reporting, auditing, or assurance.

  • At least 3 years in a managerial role.

• Technical Proficiency: Strong, demonstrable knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, ISA, and sustainability reporting frameworks.

• Core Competencies: Proven experience in sustainability reporting and assurance is essential.
