Job Description:
We are seeking a highly disciplined and analytical Finance Supervisor to lead our day-to-day accounting operations. Based on the Lagos Island axis, this role is the bridge between transactional accuracy and strategic financial reporting.
As the Finance Supervisor, you will be the final line of defense for the integrity of our financial data. You will oversee the accounts team, ensuring that every journal entry, reconciliation, and payroll cycle is executed to "gold-standard" accuracy. Your mission is to provide leadership that ensures statutory compliance while delivering the deep financial insights necessary for executive decision-making. Requirements:
1. Operational Oversight & Internal Control
Daily Supervision: Lead and monitor the day-to-day accounting and finance activities to ensure business continuity and accuracy.
Review & Approval: Serve as the final authority for the review and approval of journal entries, bank reconciliations, and general ledger activities.
Process Integrity: Oversee the accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and payroll workflows to ensure timely settlements and accurate disbursements.
2. Financial Reporting & Strategic Analysis
Statement Preparation: Take ownership of the month-end, quarterly, and annual closing processes, preparing comprehensive financial statements in line with IFRS/GAAP.
Management Intelligence: Analyze complex financial data to produce management reports that highlight variances, trends, and opportunities for cost optimization.
Planning Support: Support the executive team in budgeting, long-term forecasting, and the strategic management of company cash flow.
3. Compliance & Audit Coordination
Statutory Governance: Ensure 100% compliance with corporate policies, tax regulations (FIRS/LIRS), and industry-specific accounting standards.
Audit Leadership: Act as the primary liaison for internal and external auditors, coordinating the preparation of schedules and ensuring all required documentation is provided promptly.
Continuous Improvement: Identify gaps in financial controls and implement corrective measures to safeguard company assets.
Qualifications and Skills:
Professional Profile
Education: Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Accounting or Finance.
Experience: Proven experience in a supervisory or senior accounting role with a track record of team leadership.
Certification: Professional qualification (ICAN, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent) is a significant advantage.
Location: Candidates must reside on the Island (Lekki, Victoria Island, Ikoyi, or Ajah axis).
