Job Description:

Are you an organized and experienced finance professional with a passion for driving social impact? Do you have expertise in managing donor funds and ensuring financial transparency? Our non-profit, non-partisan organization is committed to advancing women’s representation in public leadership and governance across Africa, empowering women through advocacy, capacity-building, and financial support. We are seeking a dedicated Finance & Grant Administration Officer to join our team in a hybrid role.

 

Job Summary
The Finance & Grant Administration Officer will play a pivotal role in ensuring the effective and transparent management of financial resources, particularly donor and sponsor funds. Reporting to the Finance Lead, this role will support the implementation of robust financial systems, processes, and procedures to strengthen budgeting, reporting, financial analysis, and compliance across the organization.

 

Key Responsibilities

Grant Financial Monitoring & Reporting

  • Prepare and present comprehensive financial reports for donors, sponsors, and partners, aligned with agreed project budgets.

  • Monitor grant utilization, maintain accurate financial records, and ensure full compliance with donor agreements and Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs).

  • Support audits of project accounts by ensuring proper documentation and adherence to audit requirements.

  • Maintain and update the grant database to streamline reporting and financial tracking.

Budgeting, Accounting & Financial Management

  • Work with the Finance Lead on both short- and long-term budgeting and financial planning.

  • Contribute to financial process reviews and provide insights for improving reporting and analysis.

  • Support fundraising efforts, including grant applications, in collaboration with the programs team.

  • Assist with tax remittance, tax returns, and statutory contributions to ensure compliance.

  • Support organization-wide audits and help implement recommendations from auditors.

  • Monitor staff advances and retirements, reconciling accounts and ledgers accurately.

  • Oversee the timely documentation and filing of payment requests, requisitions, and invoices.

  • Maintain strong internal controls to uphold financial integrity across all operations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in finance, accounting, or administrative roles, with a strong preference for experience within an NGO, civic-tech, or social impact organization.
  •  You must be a Certified Accountant (ACA).
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, budgeting, and financial reporting.
  • High proficiency with accounting software and digital tools, including QuickBooks, Excel, and Microsoft office suite.
  • Familiarity with donor-funded projects and financial compliance processes.
  • Exceptional organizational and documentation skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
  •  Unwavering integrity, discretion, and professionalism in managing sensitive financial data.

Salary

₦300,000 - ₦400,000/month
