Job Description:
We are seeking a high-caliber Deputy Strategy Manager to serve as the intellectual engine of our creative agency. This is a mid-to-senior level leadership role (3–7 years experience) designed for a "Strategic Architect"—someone who can transform complex market data into simple, powerful communication strategies that win pitches and grow brands.
Operating in a hybrid capacity in Lagos, you will bridge the gap between business objectives and creative execution. You will be responsible for deconstructing consumer behavior, identifying market gaps, and leading the creative development process with precision. If you are a persuasive storyteller with a rigorous analytical mind and a passion for mentoring the next generation of planners, we want you on our leadership team.
Requirements:
1. Consumer Insight & Market Intelligence
Research Leadership: Design and execute multi-modal research frameworks, utilizing qualitative (focus groups/interviews) and quantitative (demographic profiling) methods to uncover the "human truth" behind consumer actions.
Competitive Mapping: Develop and present periodic competitive market analysis reports, identifying category trends and strategic gaps for our clients to exploit.
Industry Thought Leadership: Stay at the forefront of global advertising trends, developing original ideas for seminar papers or articles on brand management and communication.
2. Creative Governance & Pitch Mastery
The "Master" Brief: Provide the creative team with high-clarity, concise briefs that serve as the definitive roadmap for campaign development.
Creative Catalyst: Lead the creative development process, providing critical feedback based on consumer research findings to ensure the final output is both "on-brand" and "on-strategy."
New Business Support: Partner with account managers and the executive team to develop winning pitch documents and marketing proposals that present logical, convincing solutions to client problems.
3. Client Diplomacy & Relationship Management
Strategic Advisory: Liaise with clients to deeply understand their business objectives, acting as a consultant who identifies marketing needs and develops bespoke solutions.
Performance Reporting: Present strategy documents and campaign logic to clients in a persuasive manner, ensuring alignment on the communications roadmap.
4. Team Leadership & Talent Engineering
Performance Management: Oversee the professional development of subordinates, identifying skill gaps and implementing rigorous training and coaching programs.
Team Synergy: Foster a culture of collaboration and high performance, ensuring team bonding and high morale within the strategy department.
Qualifications and Skills:
Professional Profile
Education: Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BSc/HND) in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
Experience: 3–7 years of proven experience in strategic planning, preferably within a top-tier advertising or branding agency.
Analytical Prowess: Expert-level ability to interpret data and present findings in a logical, convincing manner.

Persuasion: Exceptional presentation and writing skills, with a track record of winning business pitches.
