Job Description:
We are looking for a Creative Communications Officer who can bring our mission to life in a way that is clear, compelling, and impossible to ignore. This role is for a versatile creator who understands that storytelling is more than just "content" it is a vehicle for real-world impact.
In this role, you will be responsible for managing media relations, implementing strategic communications plans, and ensuring our messaging remains consistent and powerful across all platforms. You will work closely with both internal teams and external stakeholders to enhance our public image and showcase the transformative work we do in education and youth development.
Requirements:
Storytelling & Content Creation
Narrative Development: Translate complex programmes and impact data into engaging digital stories that resonate with diverse audiences.
Visual Design: Produce high-quality visuals, including graphics, short videos, reports, and campaign assets using modern design tools.
Field Documentation: Travel to project sites to capture authentic stories, photos, and videos from the communities and beneficiaries we serve.
Strategic Communications & Digital Growth
Strategy Execution: Develop and implement creative communication strategies for specific projects and high-level partnerships.
Digital Presence: Manage and scale our online presence across social media platforms, newsletters, and the official website.
Brand Consistency: Ensure all output aligns with our brand voice and visual identity, maintaining a professional and cohesive public image.
Collaboration & Innovation
Internal Liaison: Work hand-in-hand with programme teams to move beyond "activity reporting" and focus on showcasing meaningful outcomes.
Media Relations: Manage relationships with press and media partners to amplify our message and reach.
Creative Experimentation: Constantly test new formats and ideas to find better, more innovative ways to tell our story.
Qualifications and Skills:
Technical Proficiency:
Strong design skills using Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar professional tools.
Ability to produce both high-impact visual assets and polished written content.
Experience:
Proven background in development, media, or digital communications.
Experience in the non-profit or social impact sector is a significant plus.
Core Competencies:
The Storyteller’s Eye: A natural ability to identify and frame stories that evoke empathy and action.
Proactive Initiative: Someone who can work independently with minimal supervision and take full ownership of projects.
