Job Description:

We are looking for a versatile Computer Operator / Buyer to serve as a critical link between our data operations and supply chain activities. In this dual-function role, you will ensure our digital databases are accurate while simultaneously managing the procurement of goods and services needed to keep our operations running smoothly. This position is ideal for an organized professional who is as comfortable behind a keyboard managing data as they are negotiating with suppliers in the field.

Requirements:

Computer Operations:

• Data Management: Accurately enter, update, and maintain vital company data and records in our central systems.

• Systems Maintenance: Operate and monitor computer equipment to ensure optimal performance; troubleshoot basic technical glitches and escalate complex issues.

• Reporting: Generate, review, and distribute regular operational reports to provide management with actionable insights.

• Integrity & Security: Uphold the highest standards of data accuracy, confidentiality, and regulatory compliance.

Purchasing / Buying:

• Strategic Sourcing: Identify reliable suppliers and secure competitive quotations to ensure the best value for money regarding price, quality, and lead time.

• Procurement Lifecycle: Prepare and process purchase orders, track incoming orders, and coordinate seamless delivery logistics with vendors.

• Inventory Control: Proactively monitor stock levels to prevent shortages and initiate re-orders in a timely manner.

• Vendor Relations: Build and maintain strong, positive relationships with suppliers; assist in negotiating favorable contract terms and pricing structures.

• Financial Accuracy: Verify all incoming invoices against purchase orders and delivery documentation to ensure financial precision.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Core Skills:

  • Analytical Skills: Ability to compare market prices and analyze data trends to inform buying decisions.

  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written skills for vendor negotiations and cross-departmental reporting.

  • Technical Aptitude: Strong proficiency in data entry, database management, and standard office productivity software (MS Office/Google Workspace).

  • Organization: Proven ability to multitask and manage competing priorities between computer-based tasks and procurement deadlines.

• Experience: Previous experience in data entry, administrative support, or procurement/buying is preferred.
