Job Description:
We are seeking an exceptionally authoritative, commercially astute, and client-facing Client Business Lead to anchor our strategic accounts division from our Costain, Lagos hub. Operating in a high-stakes, hybrid capacity, this senior leadership role demands an experienced agency professional who can serve as the ultimate custodian of overall marketing direction, brand growth, and client business transformations.
You will act as the primary strategic partner to our key clients, advising their executive teams on brand architectures, market positioning, and capital-allocation decisions for multi-channel promotional campaigns. This role requires an elite "player-coach" who can seamlessly bridge the gap between creative cross-functional execution and rigorous commercial business metrics—overseeing end-to-end campaign engineering across digital, traditional, and experiential touchpoints while protecting client margins and driving institutional Net Revenue Retention (NRR).
Requirements:
1. Macro Brand Direction & Portfolio Growth
Strategic Partnership: Serve as the definitive external strategic advisor to client leadership, driving high-level decisions on brand identity, long-term market positioning, and commercial promotional strategies.
Growth Architecture: Lead, design, and continuously optimize integrated marketing directions for the managed brand portfolio to systematically hit and exceed client expansion and market-share targets.
Omnichannel Campaign Governance: Oversee the end-to-end formulation, staging, and execution of multi-layered advertising campaigns across digital (performance, social, programmatic), traditional (OOH, print, broadcast), and experiential (activations, event stagemarks) touchpoints.
2. Client Relationship Engineering & Executive Presence
Account Stewardship: Serve as the primary, unyielding corporate touchpoint for institutional client accounts, protecting relationship health and alignment between agency output and client corporate objectives.
C-Suite Advisory: Lead complex high-level client meetings, pitch presentations, steering committees, and Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) with C-suite stakeholders and board-level sponsors.
Commercial Expansion: Proactively identify, nurture, and close portfolio expansion opportunities—upselling advanced framework models, multi-market strategies, and supplementary media properties to expand agency wallet-share.
3. Campaign Performance Tracking & Data Hygiene
KPI Auditing: Establish, monitor, and take absolute accountability for account KPI frameworks, ensuring all media deployments are measured against firm performance benchmarks (e.g., CAC, ROI, brand lift, engagement velocity).
Agile Strategy Optimization: Extract real-time campaign performance data, conducting deep monthly variance audits to identify execution gaps and rapidly alter media strategies to protect client marketing investments.
Quality & Delivery Controls: Enforce rigorous operational discipline across internal teams to guarantee all account deliverables, creative proofs, copy assets, and media schedules are executed in a timely, accurate, and flawless on-brand manner.
4. Cross-Functional Project Leadership
Resource Optimization: Right-size internal creative, media-buying, and digital teams against client pipeline demands, driving a high-productivity workspace focused on standardization and execution speed.
SOP Enforcement: Build and protect clear cross-functional workflows, ensuring creative teams receive flawless, fulfillment-ready briefs to eliminate post-production friction or scope creep.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education & Experience Parameters
Degree Baseline: Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Mass Communication, Business Administration, Media Studies, or a related quantitative/commercial discipline from an accredited institution.
Domain Longevity: 6 to 7 years of progressive, verifiable experience operating within a core Marketing, Brand Management, Account Management, or Client Service capacity.
Mandatory Agency Footprint: Direct, extensive experience working within a structured Advertising Agency, Brand Management Firm, or Media/IMC Company is an absolute prerequisite. Candidates without core agency-side experience will not be evaluated.
Technical Competencies & Skill Matrix
Commercial & Data Awareness: Deep analytical capabilities, with a proven history of using data insights to shape creative campaigns and an in-depth understanding of agency financial modeling, media budgets, and billing frameworks.

Client-Facing Mastery: Elite verbal and written communication, negotiation, and high-level corporate presentation skills, with the executive presence required to confidently navigate high-stakes scope disputes or brand crises.
Omnichannel Literacy: Thorough operational understanding of the mechanics behind modern digital marketing platforms, traditional media landscape laws within Nigeria, and experiential event logistics.
