About Company:

Reckitt Benckiser is the world's leading consumer health and hygiene company. Every day, across 60 countries, we work with the best people to challenge conventional thinking and strive to find even better ways to give people innovative solutions for healthier lives and happier homes.

Job Description:

We are seeking a high-velocity and commercially rigorous Category Marketing Manager (OTC) to anchor our Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) growth engine in Lagos Island. In the complex pharmaceutical and FMCG landscape, success is defined by "Omnichannel Resonance", the ability to harmonize consumer storytelling with high-fidelity Healthcare Professional (HCP) engagement. This role is designed for a "Portfolio Architect" with 8–10 years of experience who can blend "Strategic Vision" with the "Operational Grit" required to lead innovative product launches and develop a team of exceptional marketers.

Your mission is to ensure "Absolute Category Dominance and Profitability Across SSA." You will be the primary steward of our Self-care and Intimate Wellness brands: responsible for crafting regional visions, aligning medical sales detailing matrices, and managing complex agency relationships. If you possess "Exceptional Commercial Rigor," a background in Pharmacy or Biological Sciences, and the "Strategic Agility" to lead in competitive environments, we want you to drive our marketing sovereignty.

Requirements:

1. Category Vision & Regional Strategy

  • SSA Portfolio Sovereignty: Develop a clear, long-term vision for the Self-care and Intimate Wellness categories, aligning Sub-Saharan Africa objectives with Reckitt’s global strategic imperatives.

  • Business Plan Governance: Lead the design and implementation of annual business plans, rigorously monitoring competitor activity and recommending real-time adjustments to the marketing mix.

  • Product Development Architecture: Drive a robust product development programme (NPD) focused on generating consistent top-line sales and sustainable profit growth.

2. Omnichannel Engagement & HCP Diplomacy

  • Professional Engagement Strategy: Develop and execute high-impact communication plans for Healthcare Professionals (HCPs), leveraging an omnichannel approach to build brand credibility.

  • Medical Sales Alignment: Align the Coverage Cycle and Detailing Matrix for the Medical Sales team, ensuring that field execution perfectly mirrors marketing strategy.

  • KOL Relationship Management: Identify and secure opportunities to build long-term relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) to solidify the clinical authority of the OTC portfolio.

3. Agency Orchestration & Brand Communication

  • Creative Sovereignty: Ignite the market with innovative launches and persuasive consumer/shopper communications that translate complex medical benefits into compelling stories.

  • Agency Partnership Management: Lead the selection and management of external service agencies, ensuring seamless delivery of digital strategies and ATL/BTL communication plans.

  • Sales-Marketing Interface: Coordinate a high-fidelity interface between Sales and Marketing teams to ensure "Point of Sale" execution matches brand standards.

4. Leadership & People Development

  • Talent Engineering: Act as a primary coach and mentor, transforming the category team into a high-performing unit of "Exceptional Marketers."

  • Stakeholder Diplomacy: Align internal and external stakeholders to ensure regional projects receive the necessary structural and financial support.

Qualifications and Skills:

Professional Profile

  • Education: First Degree in Pharmacy, Biological Sciences, or Social Sciences. An MBA or Master’s in a Business/Health-related field is a significant advantage.

  • Experience: 8–10 years of marketing experience with a proven track record in the Pharma or FMCG sectors.

  • Market Agility: Demonstrated success in managing brands within the complex and competitive Sub-Saharan African regulatory and commercial environment.

Core Competencies

  • Strategic Planning: Proactive data analysis to identify growth opportunities and corrective actions.

  • Commercial Rigor: Deep understanding of the "End-to-End" consumer, shopper, and HCP journey.

  • Leadership Grit: Proven ability in people management, stakeholder engagement, and project advocacy.
