Job Description:
We are seeking a proactive and results-oriented Business Relationship Officer to manage and grow our merchant ecosystem across Lagos Mainland. In this role, you will be the primary link between the company and our diverse portfolio of retail, SME, and enterprise clients. Your mission is to ensure seamless onboarding, drive high product utilization, and maintain elite levels of merchant satisfaction through diligent relationship management and operational support.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in the Nigerian fintech landscape and possesses the technical and interpersonal skills required to navigate the fast-paced world of digital payment solutions.
Requirements:
Merchant Support & Relationship Management
Strategic Onboarding: Lead the end-to-end onboarding process for new merchants, ensuring all account setups, documentation, and KYC compliance requirements are met.
Activation & Adoption: Drive the initial activation of services and maintain consistent communication to ensure merchants are deriving maximum value from our products.
Account Retention: Act as a dedicated consultant for merchants, identifying their needs and ensuring long-term satisfaction through regular check-ins.
Operational & Administrative Support
Deployment Coordination: Collaborate with internal Technology and Operations teams to facilitate the deployment of payment hardware and software (POS, SoftPOS, QR codes, etc.).
Transaction Monitoring: Actively track merchant activity and transaction volumes, proactively following up on any settlement issues or technical glitches.
Problem Resolution: Resolve day-to-day inquiries and escalate complex technical or financial hurdles to the relevant internal departments for swift resolution.
Data, Reporting & Education
Insights & Reporting: Maintain precise records of engagement activities and generate routine reports on onboarding progress and merchant transaction trends.
Product Advocacy: Stay updated on the company’s evolving product suite and provide hands-on demonstrations or training sessions to merchants and their staff.
Market Feedback: Gather and synthesize merchant feedback to provide actionable insights for future product development and service enhancements.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, or a related discipline.
Experience: * Minimum of 3 years of post-NYSC work experience.
Proven background in merchant acquisition, customer support, digital payments, or the Fintech sector.
Core Competencies:
Fintech Literacy: Solid understanding of digital payment solutions and the Lagos business terrain.
Analytical Skills: Ability to track transaction data and translate it into performance reports.
Communication: Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to explain technical products to non-technical users.
Organization: High level of administrative discipline and attention to detail regarding documentation.
