Job Description:
- We are seeking a proactive and results-driven Business Development Officer to support the growth of a new lending business within our financial institution.
- The ideal candidate will play a key role in driving business development, sourcing quality loan clients, identifying new lending opportunities, and building strong relationships with individuals and businesses.
- We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, strategic, and capable of taking initiative to help establish and grow the lending portfolio of the business.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop and sustain strong relationships with company stakeholders and clients.
- Identify potential borrowers and business opportunities to grow the lending portfolio.
- Assess clients’ financing needs and recommend suitable lending solutions.
- Create and implement innovative business development strategies to attract new loan clients.
- Communicate effectively and present lending products and proposals to prospective clients.
- Prepare progress reports and keep clients informed throughout the lending process.
- Issue invoices, follow up on payments, and ensure proper loan repayment follow-ups where necessary.
- Analyze client feedback to determine satisfaction with services rendered.
- Conduct market research to identify new lending opportunities and potential clients.
- Stay current with industry trends, lending practices, and market developments.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, or a related field (or relevant experience) with 3–5 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Prior experience working in a Bank, FX company, or Microfinance Bank (MFB) is required.
- Experience in lending, credit marketing, or loan portfolio development will be an added advantage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office is a must.
- Good spoken and written English.
- Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills.
