Job Description:
We are seeking a high-performing Assistant Manager, Trade Development to spearhead our sales expansion and market reach in Lagos. In this pivotal role, you will manage trade channels, cultivate high-value distributor relationships, and execute robust retail strategies designed to maximize market penetration and drive consistent revenue growth.
Requirements:
Distributor Management: Oversee and optimize a portfolio of Key Distributors (KDs) to ensure seamless supply chain and trade development efficiency.
Sales Strategy Execution: Drive sales volume targets through the implementation of innovative market expansion and growth strategies.
Redistribution Leadership: Direct and manage redistribution operations, including van sales and open market sales teams, to strengthen our market presence.
Operational Excellence: Enforce rigorous Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for route planning and drive the adoption of sales automation tools to improve team productivity.
Network Expansion: Expand territory coverage by identifying, onboarding, and optimizing sub-distributor networks.
Team Leadership: Coach, mentor, and build the capabilities of the sales team to ensure high performance and sustained revenue growth.
Performance Planning: Collaborate with Key Distributors to develop and execute Joint Business Plans (JBPs) with clear, trackable KPIs.
Market Intelligence: Conduct deep-dive analysis into competitor activities and market trends to provide actionable strategic recommendations.
Performance Monitoring: Conduct regular sales reviews to identify performance gaps, implement corrective actions, and capitalize on emerging opportunities.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education: Minimum of a BSc in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or a related field.
Experience: A minimum of 5+ years of professional sales experience within the FMCG sector, with specific expertise in redistribution sales.
Advantage: Demonstrated track record in managing large-scale Key Distributor networks.
