About Company:
Woodgate Structure Limited is a Human Resources Management and Business structuring Company with a Mindset Structured towards Sincerity of Purpose, Professionalism and Integrity.
Job Description:
We are seeking an analytically sharp, meticulous, and compliance-driven Accountant to oversee our corporate financial ledger, transactional tracking, and fiscal health. In this role, you will hold absolute operational accountability for the accuracy and integrity of our financial records bridging the gap between day-to-day bookkeeping and high-level corporate financial planning.
The ideal candidate views accounting not just as a data-entry exercise, but as a critical mechanism for business intelligence and regulatory risk mitigation. You will take charge of managing our tax obligations, balancing accounts, reconciling complex transaction records, and ensuring our financial operations strictly comply with local, state, federal, and international accounting standards.
Requirements:
1. Financial Ledger Architecture & Data Hygiene
Transaction Tracking: Record, classify, and maintain an accurate, up-to-date physical and digital registry of all company financial transactions—including revenues, operational expenditures, payroll, and asset depreciations.
Account Reconciliation: Execute rigorous weekly and monthly bank reconciliations, vendor ledger cross-audits, and internal account balancing to identify and resolve financial discrepancies immediately.
Financial Reporting: Prepare, analyze, and present comprehensive monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (including Balance Sheets, Income Statements, and Cash Flow Statements) for executive management review.
2. Tax Engineering & Regulatory Compliance
Tax Administration: Calculate, prepare, and file all applicable corporate taxes correctly and on time—including VAT, WHT, PAYE, and CIT—ensuring zero exposure to regulatory penalties or default interests.
Regulatory Governance: Ensure all financial practices, bookkeeping processes, and documentation strategies strictly align with the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) mandates, State Internal Revenue Services (SIRS) laws, and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
Audit Preparedness: Manage and preserve immaculate internal financial records, audit trails, and vouchers, acting as the primary point of contact during external statutory audits.
3. Cost Optimization & Budgetary Oversight
Budget Tracking: Partner with departmental leads to build, track, and analyze annual corporate budgets, conducting deep variance analysis to flag unapproved spend patterns or cost overruns.
Cash Flow Management: Monitor working capital velocity, managing the timeline balance between Accounts Payable (vendor obligations) and Accounts Receivable (client invoices) to maintain optimal liquidity.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education & Academic Tracks
Degree Baseline: Bachelor’s Degree (B.Sc.) or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Accounting, Finance, or a strictly related quantitative discipline from an accredited tertiary institution.
Professional Credentials & Certifications
Certification Threshold: Must be a certified Chartered Accountant or actively in the progressive pipeline of securing professional licensing from recognized institutional bodies—such as ICAN (Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria) or ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants).
