Job Description:
Skynet Worldwide Express is seeking a meticulous and proactive Account Officer to join our finance team at our Ikeja Headquarters. In the fast-paced world of global logistics, every shipment carries a financial footprint. We are looking for an accounting professional who can manage the high-velocity flow of receivables, payables, and reconciliations with "zero-error" precision. Requirements:
1. Revenue Assurance & Receivables
Invoicing Precision: Manage the end-to-end billing process for corporate and retail logistics clients, ensuring all shipping charges, surcharges, and duties are accurately captured.
Credit Control: Monitor aging reports and lead follow-up activities to ensure the timely collection of outstanding receivables.
Logistics Reconciliation: Reconcile daily waybill reports against cash and digital payments to ensure total revenue integrity.
2. Financial Documentation & General Ledger
Transaction Recording: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all daily financial transactions within the accounting system.
Payables Management: Process vendor payments and staff reimbursements, ensuring all outflows are backed by proper authorization and documentation.
Bank Reconciliation: Perform regular bank reconciliations to identify and resolve any discrepancies between the bank statement and the company’s internal books.
3. Compliance & Reporting
Statutory Returns: Assist in the preparation and filing of monthly statutory returns (VAT, WHT, PAYE) in accordance with Nigerian tax laws.
Periodic Reporting: Support the Finance Manager in preparing weekly cash flow statements and monthly performance reports.
Audit Support: Maintain a meticulous filing system to ensure the department is always "audit-ready" for both internal and external reviews.
Qualifications and Skills:
Professional Criteria
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of progressive experience in an accounting role (Logistics or Supply Chain experience is a significant advantage).
Education: BSc/HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
Proximity: Mandatory residency within close proximity to Ikeja, Lagos, to ensure operational efficiency.
Availability: Candidates must be ready to start immediately.
Technical Skills
Software: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, or SAP) and Advanced Excel.
Principles: A solid, foundational understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Detail-Oriented: A relentless focus on accuracy and the ability to spot discrepancies in large datasets.
