Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced WordPress IT Administrator to take full ownership of our digital ecosystem. In this dual-impact role, you will be responsible for both the technical "under-the-hood" maintenance of multiple WordPress sites and the creative redesign of these platforms to elevate user experience (UX). You will bridge the gap between back-end stability and front-end aesthetics, ensuring our web presence is secure, high-performing, and visually compelling.

The ideal candidate is a technical problem-solver who can manage complex server-side updates one moment and implement a pixel-perfect responsive redesign the next.

Requirements:

Administrative & Technical Management

• Site Governance: Manage and maintain multiple WordPress installations, ensuring all core files, themes, and plugins are consistently up-to-date and secure.

• Security & Backups: Execute regular site backups and implement rigorous security protocols to protect against vulnerabilities and downtime.

• Performance Optimization: Continuously monitor site speed and implement server-side or front-end optimizations to improve loading times and Core Web Vitals.

• User Administration: Oversee user accounts, managing specific roles and permissions to ensure internal security and workflow efficiency.

• Troubleshooting: Act as the primary point of contact for resolving technical glitches, broken links, or plugin conflicts.

Strategic Redesign & Development

• Conceptual Design: Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate business goals into modern, high-functioning site layouts.

• Theme Customization: Develop and implement custom templates and themes, moving beyond "out-of-the-box" solutions to meet specific project needs.

• Technical Stack: Utilize PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to customize site functionality and enhance the visual appeal of our web assets.

• Responsiveness: Ensure every redesign is fully responsive and maintains cross-browser compatibility across all mobile and desktop devices.

• UX Testing: Conduct usability testing and iterate on designs based on user feedback to ensure a frictionless experience for visitors.

Qualifications and Skills:

Education & Experience

• Proven Track Record: Demonstrated experience as a WordPress IT Administrator, Web Developer, or in a similar technical role managing multiple sites.

• Technical Mastery: Deep knowledge of the WordPress CMS ecosystem, including advanced theme/plugin customization and hooks.

• Programming Skills: Professional proficiency in PHP, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.

Technical & Professional Skills

• Security & Performance: Expert understanding of website optimization (caching, CDNs, image compression) and security best practices (SSL, firewalls, hardening).

• SEO & Analytics: Familiarity with SEO principles and tools to ensure sites are search-engine friendly.

• Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical skills with a high degree of attention to detail in code and layout.
