Job Description:
We are seeking a diligent and safety-conscious Warehouse Assistant to support our operations within a heavy machinery and equipment environment. This role is essential for the seamless flow of spare parts, tools, and industrial materials that keep our workshops and projects running. You will be responsible for the entire lifecycle of warehouse inventory—from initial receipt and inspection to precision picking and dispatch.
The ideal candidate is a physically fit, organized professional who understands the specific handling requirements of heavy industrial components and takes pride in maintaining a safe, high-functioning storage environment.
Requirements:
Inventory Operations & Handling
Receiving & Inspection: Receive, inspect, and verify incoming machinery parts and equipment against delivery notes and purchase orders to ensure 100% accuracy.
Storage & Organization: Systematically store spare parts, components, and consumables in designated locations, ensuring proper labeling and easy retrieval.
Dispatch Logistics: Accurately pick, pack, and prepare materials for timely dispatch to various sites, workshops, or external customers.
Loading/Unloading: Safely manage the loading and unloading of heavy materials using appropriate handling equipment such as pallet jacks or lifting devices.
Stock Control & Systems
Record Keeping: Maintain precise inventory records and update all stock movements within the warehouse management system or ERP.
Auditing: Conduct routine stock counts and assist the Warehouse Supervisor in periodic inventory audits to identify shortages or discrepancies.
Asset Tracking: Ensure every machinery part is correctly identified and tagged to prevent loss or misidentification during the engineering process.
Safety, Maintenance & Support
HSE Compliance: Adhere strictly to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies, particularly regarding the handling of heavy industrial loads.
Technical Support: Assist engineers and technicians in locating and issuing the specific tools and spare parts required for specialized repairs.
Facility Upkeep: Maintain a clean, orderly, and hazard-free warehouse environment.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education & Experience
Qualification: Minimum of an OND or equivalent.
Experience: Previous warehouse or storekeeping experience, specifically within heavy machinery, construction, engineering, or industrial sectors, is highly preferred.
Specialized Knowledge: Basic understanding of machinery spare parts and warehouse operational workflows.
Physical & Technical Skills
Physical Capability: Ability to stand for long periods and handle the regular lifting and bending required in a heavy equipment environment.
Technical Proficiency: Basic computer knowledge, with an emphasis on inventory software or ERP systems.
Equipment Operation: Experience operating forklifts or specialized lifting devices is a significant advantage.
