Job Description:
- The Telesales Agent is responsible for making outbound calls to prospective and existing customers to promote products/services, generate leads, close sales, and meet assigned revenue targets.
- The role requires strong persuasive skills, excellent communication abilities, and consistent follow-through to ensure customer satisfaction and repeat business.
Key Responsibilities
- Make high-volume outbound calls to sell products/services to potential customers.
- Receive inbound calls, handle inquiries, and convert them into sales opportunities.
- Follow up on leads generated through marketing campaigns, referrals, or online channels.
- Persuade customers by explaining product benefits and addressing objections professionally.
- Customer Engagement & Relationship Building:
- Maintain a polite, confident, and professional phone manner at all times.
- Understand customer needs and recommend suitable products/services.
- Build and maintain positive customer relationships to encourage repeat patronage.
- Up-sell and cross-sell where applicable.
- Meet or exceed daily, weekly, and monthly sales targets.
- Track personal performance and continuously improve call-to-sale conversion rates.
- Maintain accurate logs of all calls, leads, and sales in the CRM system.
- Maintain up-to-date product knowledge to ensure accurate information delivery.
- Prepare daily or weekly performance reports as required by management.
- Comply with company policies, telephone etiquette standards, and sales guidelines.
Requirements:
- OND / HND / BSc Degree in any related field.
- 2–3 years of experience in telesales, telemarketing, customer service, or related roles experience in Nigerian fintech, telecom or banking.
- Excellent verbal communication skills with a clear, articulate phone voice.
- Strong persuasion and negotiation abilities.
- Good knowledge of sales techniques and the Nigerian customer market.
- Proficiency in CRM systems and basic computer applications.
- Strong multitasking, time management, and organizational skills.
- Results-driven and target-oriented.
- Customer-focused with good listening skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
