Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Mechanical Engineer to lead the planning, design, and execution of our mechanical engineering projects. In this role, you will take ownership of mechanical systems and installations, ensuring they are designed for maximum efficiency and maintained to the highest safety standards. You will bridge the gap between technical design and site execution, overseeing contractors and internal teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.

The ideal candidate is a professionally-minded engineer who blends technical design proficiency in AutoCAD with the rigorous organizational discipline of project management.

Requirements:

Project Design & Documentation

  • Systems Development: Design, develop, and supervise the installation of mechanical systems tailored to project requirements.

  • Technical Drafting: Prepare precise technical drawings using AutoCAD, along with detailed specifications and project documentation.

  • Scheduling: Develop project timelines, progress reports, and regular updates for management and stakeholders.

Site Supervision & Execution

  • Inspections: Conduct regular site visits to monitor project execution, ensuring work aligns with original designs and engineering best practices.

  • HSE Compliance: Maintain absolute compliance with Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards across all mechanical installations.

  • Contractor Liaison: Coordinate effectively with vendors and contractors to ensure materials and services meet quality and timeline expectations.

Maintenance & Troubleshooting

  • Lifecycle Planning: Carry out proactive maintenance planning to extend the life of mechanical systems and equipment.

  • Problem Solving: Lead troubleshooting efforts for mechanical failures, identifying root causes and implementing long-term solutions.

  • OEM Standards: Ensure all operations and maintenance activities align with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) standards and specifications.

Qualifications and Skills:

Education & Professional Status

  • Degree: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.

  • Mandatory Certification: PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is required (or currently in view).

  • Seniority: Minimum of five (5) years of relevant work experience in an engineering or industrial environment.

Technical Skills

  • Software: High proficiency in AutoCAD for 2D and 3D modeling/drafting.

  • Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of engineering best practices and safety regulations.

  • OEM Exposure: Familiarity with OEM standards and operations is considered a strong advantage.

Core Competencies

  • Analytical Thinking: Strong ability to break down complex mechanical problems and design elegant technical solutions.

  • Project Management: Proven ability to manage project delivery within approved budgets and strict timelines.

  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration with other engineering teams and stakeholders.
