Job Description:
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Site Manager to take the lead on the ground. You will be the primary point of authority on-site, transforming architectural and engineering plans into physical structures. This is a hands-on role for a professional who thrives in dynamic construction environments, ensuring that every task is completed safely, to the highest quality standards, and strictly according to the project schedule.
Requirements:
Operational Supervision: Lead daily site operations and manage the workforce to ensure productivity targets are met consistently.
Technical Compliance: Ensure all construction activities are executed in strict accordance with project plans, blueprints, and engineering specifications.
Project Progress Monitoring: Track milestones against timelines and provide accurate, timely progress reports to the Project Manager.
Quality & Problem Solving: Conduct rigorous quality control inspections and act as the first line of defense in identifying and resolving technical or logistical bottlenecks.
Safety Enforcement: Maintain an uncompromising focus on health and safety regulations, ensuring all team members and subcontractors adhere to site safety protocols.
Logistics & Resource Management: Coordinate the delivery, storage, and utilization of construction materials and heavy equipment to maintain a seamless workflow.
Documentation: Keep detailed and accurate site records, including daily logs, incident reports, and material usage documentation.
Qualifications and Skills:
Professional Background: Proven experience in civil engineering, building technology, or construction management.
Operational Expertise: Strong understanding of construction methods, material handling, and site logistics.
Leadership Skills: Ability to motivate, supervise, and manage diverse teams of laborers and subcontractors.
Analytical Thinking: Ability to interpret complex technical drawings and troubleshoot unexpected site challenges effectively.
Safety Awareness: Solid knowledge of health and safety standards (e.g., OSHA or local Nigerian construction safety regulations).
Communication: Exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills to liaise between the site workforce and senior management.
