Job Description:
We are seeking a high-caliber Senior Finance Analyst to serve as the commercial engine of our Lagos operations. This is a role for a finance professional who views numbers through a strategic lens, moving beyond standard bookkeeping to provide the "Why" behind the "What."
You will be the primary financial partner to our Sales and Business Leadership teams, responsible for dissecting commercial performance, safeguarding margins, and optimizing our working capital. If you are an expert at translating complex datasets into executive-level insights that drive profitability, we want you to lead our commercial reporting.
Requirements:
1. Commercial Performance & Profitability
Margin Stewardship: Analyze and report on product and channel margins, identifying areas for price optimization and cost reduction.
Profitability Analytics: Conduct deep-dive assessments of sales performance to ensure business activities align with bottom-line growth objectives.
Incentive Alignment: Partner with Sales teams to evaluate the financial impact of commercial schemes and trade terms.
2. Strategic Planning & Forecasting
Predictive Modeling: Support the annual budgeting process and lead monthly/quarterly rolling forecasts that anticipate market shifts.
Variance Management: Conduct rigorous variance analysis, comparing actual performance against budgets to identify risks and opportunities.
Decision Support: Provide "what-if" scenario modeling to support leadership in strategic investments and commercial pivots.
3. Operational Efficiency & Executive Reporting
Working Capital Optimization: Drive inventory analytics and receivables monitoring to ensure efficient cash flow and minimize capital "trapped" in the supply chain.
Dashboard Architecture: Design and maintain high-impact, executive-level reporting dashboards that track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in real-time.
Process Leadership: Streamline reporting cycles to provide faster, more accurate data to stakeholders.
Qualifications and Skills:
Professional Profile
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. (Professional certification like ICAN/ACCA/CIMA is highly desirable).
Experience: Proven experience in a Commercial Finance or Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) role.
Technical Mastery: Advanced Excel skills (Modeling, Power Query) and experience with Data Visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau) or ERP systems.
Core Competencies
Business Acumen: Ability to understand the drivers of the Nigerian market beyond the balance sheet.
Communication: Exceptional ability to present financial narratives to non-finance stakeholders.
Analytical Precision: A sharp eye for detail and the ability to find "needles" in large datasets.
