Job Description:

Client Service& Delivery

  • Lead client engagements with a focus on accounting and financial support, while contributing to emerging professional services business lines.
  • Provide technical oversight on financial statements, reporting, compliance, and controls.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, offering practical and commercially relevant insights.
  • Ensure client deliverables meet the highest professional standards.

 

Business Development & Market Growth

  • Support the professional services Partner in building client relationships and expanding professional services business offerings.
  • Originate new business opportunities through networking, proposals, and industry engagement.
  • Champion the brand at industry events, conferences, and professional forums.
  • Contribute to service innovation by identifying opportunities for new offerings and improvements

 

Leadership & Team Development

  • Supervise, coach, and mentor Associates and Senior Associates, ensuring consistent professional growth.
  • Provide detailed review and feedback on Associates’ accounting work (e.g., financial statements, reconciliations, reports), ensuring accuracy, compliance, and professional quality.
  • Act as a quality control point for deliverables prepared by junior colleagues before Partner review.
  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing team culture.
  • Contribute to recruitment, training, and talent retention initiatives.

 

Strategic & Thought Leadership

  • Act as a thought leader by creating and sharing insights on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of professional services business line’s strategic plan and the wider firm’s objectives.
  • Support the Partner in shaping professional services business lines positioning as a trusted professional services provider across Africa.
  • Uphold the firm’s risk, compliance, and quality standards, embedding them across engagements.

Requirements:

  • Technical Excellence: Deep expertise in your specific domain, such as IFRS/ISA, Nigerian tax laws etc.
  • Commercial Acumen: Strong business sense with the ability to understand client needs and deliver commercially sound advice and support.
  • Business Development: Proven ability to build a strong professional network, generate leads, and convert opportunities into profitable engagements.
  • Leadership & Mentorship: A natural ability to lead, inspire, and develop professional teams.
  • Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional ability to communicate complex information clearly and concisely to C-suite clients and stakeholders.
  • Integrity & Professionalism: An unwavering commitment to ethical conduct and the highest standards of the profession.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline is required (e.g., Accounting, Finance)
  • Professional Certification: Professional certifications are required e.g. ICAN and/or ACCA are mandatory for Finance/ Accounting Professionals.
  • Experience:
    • Senior Associate Level: A minimum of 8-12 years of progressive experience within a reputable professional services firm or relevant industry, with a strong track record of managing complex projects.
    • Partner Level: A minimum of 12-15+ years of experience, with a demonstrable history of originating significant business, managing a client portfolio, and proven leadership capabilities.
  • Industry Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the Nigerian business environment and experience serving clients in our target sectors.
