Job Description:

We are seeking a high-caliber Production Manager to architect and lead the daily operations of our cassava processing facilities. This is a critical leadership role designed for a "Process Purist"—someone who understands that consistency in food manufacturing is the result of disciplined systems and unwavering standards.

Your mission is to oversee the end-to-end transformation of raw cassava into high-quality garri and fufu. You will be responsible for enforcing Good Manufacturing Processes (GMP), optimizing machine uptime, and leading a diverse production team in a high-volume environment. If you have the technical grit to manage complex milling/fermentation cycles and the leadership acumen to drive a "Zero-Waste" culture, we want you to head our production line.

Requirements:

1. Process Engineering & Product Quality

  • End-to-End Oversight: Manage the daily production cycle of cassava processing, from washing and peeling to grating, fermentation, pressing, and frying/milling.

  • GMP Stewardship: Enforce strict adherence to Good Manufacturing Processes and food safety standards to ensure every batch of garri or fufu meets regulatory and quality benchmarks.

  • Analytical Problem Solving: Utilize data-driven insights to troubleshoot production bottlenecks, reduce downtime, and improve the yield from agricultural raw materials.

2. Team Leadership & Resource Governance

  • Proactive Supervision: Confidently lead and mentor production teams, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and high performance on the factory floor.

  • Cross-Departmental Synergy: Liaise with Procurement (raw material supply) and Logistics (distribution) to ensure the production schedule aligns with supply chain realities.

  • Resource Optimization: Monitor the usage of energy, water, and additives, implementing strategies to minimize waste and reduce the cost of production.

3. Operational Continuity

  • Maintenance Coordination: Work with the technical team to ensure all processing machinery is maintained and calibrated for peak performance.

  • Deadline Management: Exhibit the flexibility and commitment required to work extended hours when necessary to meet seasonal spikes or high-volume project deadlines.

Qualifications and Skills:

Professional Profile

  • Experience: Proven background in Food Manufacturing, specifically with flour production from agricultural raw materials. Direct experience in Cassava processing (Garri/Fufu) is a significant advantage.

  • Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of Good Manufacturing Processes (GMP) and food safety protocols (HACCP/ISO).

  • Leadership: Exceptional interpersonal skills with a track record of managing large, diverse human resource teams on a factory floor.

  • Communication: Ability to relay complex technical instructions clearly to staff and present production reports to management.
