Job Description:
We are seeking a commercially astute and highly organized Procurement Officer to lead our sourcing operations in Ikeja. In this role, you will be more than a buyer; you will be a strategic partner responsible for optimizing our supply chain, managing international market volatility, and ensuring that our project timelines are met with precision.
You will act as the primary bridge between our technical project teams and a global network of suppliers. Your mission is to drive productivity, mitigate inflation through smart negotiation, and maintain an audit-ready procurement pipeline. Requirements:
1. Strategic Sourcing & Vendor Development
Supplier Architecture: Identify and develop a "best-in-class" supplier base, focusing on both local alternatives and international partners to ensure supply security.
Market Intelligence: Closely monitor fluctuations in the international market (raw materials, currency, and logistics) to propose procurement strategies to the HOD.
Collaboration: Foster a culture of trust and transparency with internal customers and external vendors to streamline the acquisition process.
2. Technical Evaluation & Negotiation
Proposal Analysis: Prepare detailed comparison tables and technical evaluations to ensure all vendor proposals meet our rigid quality and technical specifications.
Value Engineering: Drive cost savings by lowering the total cost of acquisition through rigorous negotiation, process improvements, and value analysis.
Contract Management: Prepare and issue purchase orders (POs) and service agreements, ensuring all terms and conditions protect the company’s interests.
3. Operational Lifecycle & Compliance
Lead-Time Optimization: Coordinate with project teams and suppliers to aggressively shorten ordering cycles and meet strict project delivery timelines.
Audit & Documentation: Maintain a flawless archive of purchase documentation (Indents, POs, and Work Completion Certificates) to ensure 100% compliance with internal and external audits.
Financial Liaison: Manage new vendor registrations and coordinate with the Finance Department to ensure timely payment processing and budget adherence.
Qualifications and Skills:
Professional Profile
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience: Proven experience in a procurement or strategic sourcing role, preferably within a fast-paced industrial or project-based environment.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics) and Advanced Excel for data-driven decision-making.

Negotiation Skills: Ability to navigate complex commercial discussions to drive productivity and manage inflation.
Analytical Thinking: Capability to interpret international market trends and translate them into actionable procurement strategies.
