Job Description:
We are seeking a highly organized and ethical Hotel Purchasing Officer to manage the procurement lifecycle for our hotel operations in Ikeja. In this role, you will be the primary link between our internal departments and external vendors, ensuring that the hotel is consistently supplied with high-quality goods ranging from fresh food and beverage ingredients to luxury guest amenities and engineering parts. Your mission is to balance operational efficiency with strict cost control and transparency.
The ideal candidate is a savvy negotiator who understands the fast-paced demands of the hospitality industry and maintains the highest standards of integrity in all procurement activities.
Requirements:
Procurement & Sourcing
Operational Supply: Manage the daily procurement of all essential items, including F&B perishables, linens, guestroom amenities, office stationeries, and maintenance spare parts.
Vendor Management: Proactively source, evaluate, and onboard reliable suppliers; maintain a database of high-quality vendors to ensure consistent supply.
Cost Control: Conduct regular Requests for Quotations (RFQs), perform detailed price comparisons, and lead negotiations to secure the best value without compromising on quality.
Planning & Logistics
Purchasing Cycles: Develop and execute purchasing plans based on departmental requisitions, ensuring that orders are placed and delivered accurately and on time.
Quality Assurance: Inspect all delivered goods to ensure they meet the hotel’s specific quality standards and quantity requirements before acceptance.
Inventory Oversight: Collaborate with storekeepers to monitor stock levels, implementing strategies to prevent overstocking or critical stockouts.
Financial Coordination & Compliance
Payment Processing: Work closely with the Finance Department to ensure accurate documentation is provided for timely vendor payments.
Ethical Standards: Strictly adhere to the hotel’s purchasing policies and "zero-tolerance" integrity clauses to prevent fraud or conflict of interest.
Record Keeping: Maintain meticulous records of all purchase orders, invoices, and supplier contracts for audit and reporting purposes.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education: Bachelor’s degree or HND in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Accounting, or a related field.
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement or purchasing.
Direct experience within the Hospitality/Hotel industry is highly regarded.
Core Competencies:
Negotiation: Proven ability to influence vendors and manage costs effectively.
Analytical Skills: Strong ability to compare complex pricing structures and assess vendor performance.
