Job Description:
We are seeking a results-driven Procurement Officer with specialized experience in the healthcare sector to manage our end-to-end supply chain operations. This role is critical to ensuring our medical teams have the high-quality consumables and equipment necessary to provide life-saving care. You will be responsible for balancing cost-efficiency with the rigorous quality standards required in a clinical environment.
The ideal candidate possesses deep knowledge of medical consumables and the strategic negotiation skills required to manage a diverse network of pharmaceutical and equipment vendors.
Requirements:
Strategic Sourcing & Negotiation
Medical & Non-Medical Procurement: Manage the full procurement lifecycle for a wide range of items, including specialized medical consumables, pharmaceuticals, laboratory reagents, and general administrative supplies.
Vendor Relations: Identify and onboard reliable suppliers, acting as the primary liaison to foster long-term, high-value partnerships.
Terms Negotiation: Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and service level agreements (SLAs) to secure favorable terms without compromising product integrity.
Supply Chain Efficiency
Availability Management: Ensure the timely and uninterrupted supply of all quality items to various hospital departments to support seamless clinical operations.
Quality Control: Rigorously evaluate the quality of incoming supplies to ensure they meet healthcare safety standards and regulatory requirements.
Inventory Oversight: Monitor stock levels and consumption patterns to prevent shortages or the expiration of critical medical items.
Compliance & Documentation
Record Keeping: Maintain meticulous procurement records, including purchase orders, invoices, and vendor performance logs.
SOP Adherence: Ensure all procurement activities comply with internal Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and healthcare industry regulations.
Reporting: Prepare regular reports for management regarding procurement spend, cost-savings achieved, and vendor reliability.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience:
2–4 years of experience specifically within hospital or healthcare procurement.
Demonstrable experience in managing a large portfolio of vendors.
Technical Knowledge:
Essential: Comprehensive knowledge of medical consumables and clinical equipment categories.
Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel).
Core Competencies:
Negotiation: Exceptional ability to influence and secure the best value for the organization.
Integrity: High ethical standards when dealing with vendors and sensitive medical contracts.
Organization: Strong multitasking skills to manage urgent medical requests alongside routine replenishment.
