Job Description:
- The MEAL Officer will be responsible for designing and implementing monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning systems for the ECHO SAHARA Project.
- The role ensures quality data collection, analysis, reporting, and accountability to affected populations, in line with donor requirements and humanitarian standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement MEAL plans, tools, and frameworks for the project.
- Lead baseline assessments, routine monitoring, and endline evaluations.
- Design and manage data collection systems using digital tools (e.g., KoboCollect, ODK).
- Conduct Post-Distribution Monitoring (PDM) and outcome tracking for cash interventions.
- Analyze program data and generate high-quality reports to inform decision-making.
- Establish and manage Feedback and Complaint Response Mechanisms (FCRM).
- Ensure accountability to affected populations through inclusive and accessible systems.
- Support program teams in data quality assurance and field-level monitoring.
- Document lessons learned, best practices, and success stories.
- Ensure compliance with ECHO reporting requirements and organizational MEAL standards.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Social Sciences, Development Studies, Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in MEAL within humanitarian or development programs.
- Experience working on ECHO or other donor-funded projects is highly desirable.
- Strong experience in data collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Proficiency in digital data tools (e.g., KoboCollect, ODK, Excel).
- Knowledge of humanitarian standards (Sphere, CHS, Do No Harm).
- Fluency in English and Hausa is required.
