Job Description:

We are seeking a high-caliber Legal and Compliance Manager to serve as the primary architect of our legal strategy and regulatory framework. In this role, you will bridge the gap between cutting-edge Web3 innovation and global financial standards. Your mission is to drive licensing across diverse jurisdictions and protect the company’s legal position while accelerating our speed-to-market.

You are not just a gatekeeper; you are a strategic partner who provides the "how-to" for aggressive business growth within complex regulatory boundaries.

Requirements:

Regulatory Navigation & Licensing

• Global Research: Interpret evolving Fintech and Web3 regulations across Ghana, Kenya, Cameroon, Poland, and the Americas.

• Licensing Leadership: Lead end-to-end application processes for critical financial permits, including IMTO, PSP, VASP, EMI, and others in target jurisdictions.

• Stakeholder Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for regulators, financial intelligence units, and external legal counsel globally.

Compliance & Risk Management

• Framework Design: Implement and manage robust AML, KYC, and CFT policies alongside internal audit procedures.

• Risk Mitigation: Proactively identify legal risks within product roadmaps and provide actionable, risk-minimized solutions to the Executive team.

• Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial agreements, partnership contracts, and vendor terms.

Strategic Leadership

• Extreme Ownership: Take full responsibility for legal outcomes, moving beyond task completion to strategic results.

• Business Integration: Distill complex legal jargon into clear, actionable advice for non-legal stakeholders and product teams.

Qualifications and Skills:

Education & Experience

• Degree: Bachelor of Laws (LLB).

• Certification: Relevant professional certification (e.g., CAMS or equivalent) is highly preferred.

• Experience: Minimum of 10 years in legal/compliance, with 3–5 years specifically within Fintech, Crypto, or Web3.

• Regional Knowledge: Demonstrated experience managing compliance in at least two of our core regions (Africa, EU, or the Americas).

Technical & Cultural Competencies

• Web3 Literacy: Deep understanding of blockchain technology, smart contracts, and decentralized finance (DeFi).

• High Performance: Proven ability to excel in environments with high standards and rapid iteration.

• Strategic Agility: A "global mindset" with an ownership mentality—you deliver results without waiting for instructions.
