Job Description:

Greenspace Farms Ltd (Greenco) is seeking a high-precision Junior Accountant to join our Operations team. In the retail sector, financial health is built on the accuracy of daily entries. This role is designed for a "Ledger Guardian"—someone with 2–3 years of experience who can seamlessly navigate the complexities of account reconciliations, credit transactions, and statutory tax filings.

Your mission is to support the Finance Manager in maintaining a "Zero-Error" accounting environment. You will be responsible for the entire transactional lifecycle—from processing retail invoices and verifying client payments to computing PAYE and other tax obligations. Requirements:

1. Transactional Accuracy & Billing Integrity

  • Digital Record-Keeping: Process and post all daily invoices, payments, and expense transactions using the company’s accounting software and billing systems.

  • Subsidiary Ledger Governance: Maintain subsidiary accounts by meticulously verifying, allocating, and posting debits and credits to ensure a balanced general ledger.

  • Payment Verification: Act as the final point of confirmation for all client payments, ensuring that funds received align perfectly with sales records.

2. Reconciliation & Account Analysis

  • Balance Sheet Stewardship: Perform regular account analyses and reconciliations, specifically focusing on Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).

  • Discrepancy Resolution: Identify and resolve inconsistencies in bank statements or general ledger accounts before they impact periodic reporting.

  • Journal Management: Prepare accurate journal entries to ensure that all financial adjustments are documented according to standard accounting principles.

3. Statutory Compliance & Reporting

  • Tax Governance: Compute, remit, and file PAYE records and ensure the organization meets all other statutory tax obligations on time.

  • Financial Reporting: Support the Finance Manager in preparing periodic financial reports that provide a clear snapshot of retail operational performance.

  • Data & Archive Management: Maintain an organized office filing system and digital records to ensure audit readiness at all times.

Qualifications and Skills:

Professional Profile

  • Education: Minimum of OND, HND, or B.Sc. in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • Experience: 2–3 years as an Account Clerk, Bookkeeper, or in a similar accounting role.

  • Location: Candidates residing on Mainland Lagos are highly preferred for this role.

Core Competencies

  • Technical Mastery: Solid knowledge of accounting processes, principles, and bookkeeping practices.

  • Software Proficiency: High competence in ERP systems or specialized accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

  • Analytical Skills: Strong data entry, analysis, and reporting abilities with a high attention to detail.

  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal skills to interact effectively with the operations and finance teams.

Salary

₦200,000 - ₦300,000/month
