Job Description:

Okpella Cement Limited is seeking a dedicated Inventory Officer to oversee the management and monitoring of store inventory levels. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of our supply chain through accurate record-keeping, precise stock reconciliation, and the optimization of storage systems. You will serve as a key technical user of our SAP system, ensuring that all movements of materials and goods are tracked in real-time to support continuous production.

The ideal candidate brings significant experience from an industrial or manufacturing background, specifically within the cement or heavy industrial sectors, and possesses advanced proficiency in SAP inventory modules.

Requirements:

Inventory Control & SAP Management

  • Stock Tracking: Utilize SAP inventory management modules to track stock movements, process goods receipts, and manage material master data with 100% accuracy.

  • System Integrity: Ensure all physical transactions are mirrored accurately in the digital system; update and maintain inventory systems daily.

  • Reporting: Generate SAP-based inventory reports for management review, highlighting trends, stock-outs, or slow-moving items.

Warehouse Operations & Logistics

  • Goods Receipt: Receive, verify, and record all incoming materials, ensuring they match procurement specifications and delivery notes.

  • Storage & Handling: Ensure the proper storage, labeling, and safe handling of all inventory items to prevent damage or loss.

  • Replenishment: Proactively monitor inventory levels and initiate replenishment orders to prevent production bottlenecks.

  • Stock Reconciliation: Conduct periodic physical inventory counts and perform rigorous reconciliation of any discrepancies between physical stock and system records.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Operational Support: Coordinate closely with procurement, logistics, and production teams to ensure material availability aligns with business needs.

  • Policy Enforcement: Implement and enforce strict inventory control policies and procedures to safeguard company assets.

  • Administrative Duties: Support sectional heads with additional duties as assigned to further the efficiency of the store operations.

Qualifications and Skills:

Education & Experience

  • Degree: First Degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

  • Industry Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of experience in inventory management or store operations.

  • Sector Requirement: Prior experience within an industrial or cement-related field is mandatory.

Technical Skills & Competencies

  • Software Mastery: Proven experience in using SAP (specifically inventory/store modules) and Microsoft Excel.

  • Domain Expertise: Strong knowledge of storekeeping practices within a manufacturing environment.

  • Analytical Skills: High attention to detail with the ability to reconcile complex data sets and identify discrepancies.
