About Company:
Food Concepts commenced operations in 2001. From inception, our aim has been clear-cut and focused: to revolutionize the food sector in West Africa and to deliver extraordinary satisfaction to our stakeholders.
Since launching in 2004, Chicken Republic (Subsidiary of Food concepts) has already opened 55 stores in Nigeria and Ghana. On this basis, we are proud of the brand’s hard-earned reputation as the fastest growing chicken QSR in West Africa and the number 1 chicken QSR in Nigeria (both in revenues and number of outlets). In addition, Chicken Republic was ranked as one of Nigeria’s top 20 brands across all categories (Financial Standards Awards 2009).
Job Description:
We are seeking a high-energy, detail-oriented HR Operations & Services Manager to lead the human capital engine for our designated business division. This is a mission-critical role where administrative precision meets strategic people management.
You will be the primary guardian of the employee lifecycle—from architecting recruitment funnels and managing complex payroll variances to driving employee engagement and ensuring 100% compliance with Nigerian Labour Laws. We are looking for an HR professional who doesn't just "process" paperwork but optimizes systems to enhance employee performance and business profitability.
Requirements:
1. Talent Acquisition & Integrated Onboarding
Strategic Recruitment: Manage the end-to-end recruitment funnel, ensuring all hires are budgeted and "candidate care" programs are maintained.
Integrity Checks: Oversee a rigorous documentation process, including medical checks (Food Handler tests), guarantor verifications, and background reference checks.
Workforce Intelligence: Maintain real-time recruitment trackers, workforce planning data (Target vs. Actual), and "Family Tree" organizational charts.
2. Payroll Governance & Statutory Compliance
Payroll Orchestration: Manage the monthly pre-payroll variance report, capturing new hires, leave deductions, and salary reviews for the HRIS.
Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate remittance reports for Tax, Pension, NHF, and NSITF, ensuring 100% accuracy in bank payment schedules.
Exit Management: Compute final settlements for voluntary and involuntary exits, managing bank notifications and discharge letters with high sensitivity.
3. Performance, Reward & Employee Relations
Recognition Strategy: Execute the quarterly incentive programs and "Employee of the Month" initiatives, collaborating with creative teams for visual recognition.
Employee Welfare: Act as the primary liaison for HMO administration and incident reporting, ensuring staff benefits are accessible and grievances are resolved fairly.
Disciplinary Governance: Lead investigatory and disciplinary hearings, ensuring strict adherence to progressive disciplinary procedures and labour regulations.
Appraisal Management: Drive the annual performance appraisal cycle, providing data-driven recommendations for transfers, probations, or exits.
Qualifications and Skills:
Professional Profile
Education: Minimum of a University Degree in Industrial Relations, Personnel Management, or Labour Studies.
Experience: 2–4 years of solid experience in HR operations, preferably in a retail, hospitality, or high-volume service environment.
Professional Membership: CIPM membership is mandatory (or an equivalent HR professional qualification).
Technical IQ
Labour Law Mastery: Deep understanding of the Nigerian Labour Act and industrial relations best practices.
Data Analytics: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for payroll variance analysis and HR reporting.
Systems Familiarity: Experience with HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems) for records and payroll management.
