Job Description:
We are seeking a high-integrity Head of Operations to drive operational excellence at our Lekki, Lagos headquarters. In the microfinance sector, operations are the heartbeat of the business; your mission is to ensure that our service delivery is seamless, our cash management is impenetrable, and our internal controls are world-class.
You will have total oversight of the bank's operational lifecycle—from tellering and treasury to customer service and high-volume transfers. This role requires a leader with at least 3 years of banking operations experience who can scale our processes to support rapid business growth while staying fully compliant with CBN and NDIC regulations.
Requirements:
1. Core Banking Operations & Cash Governance
Tellering Oversight: Supervise the entire tellering function to ensure zero cash discrepancies and rapid customer turnaround times.
Vault & Cash Management: Lead the bank’s cash-in-vault and cash-in-transit (CIT) strategies, ensuring optimal liquidity levels at all times.
Transfer Protocols: Oversee local and electronic fund transfers, ensuring that all NEFT, NIP, and RTGS transactions are executed with 100% accuracy and within clearing windows.
2. Treasury & Liquidity Management
Treasury Support: Collaborate with the treasury team to monitor the bank’s asset-liability position, ensuring the bank meets its withdrawal obligations and statutory reserves.
Investment Operations: Oversee the operational aspects of treasury instruments, ensuring accurate record-keeping of placements and maturity profiles.
Regulatory Reporting: Ensure all operational data is meticulously captured for daily and monthly returns to regulatory bodies.
3. Customer Experience & Service Standards
Service Quality Assurance: Direct the customer service department to ensure a premium "Lekki-standard" experience for all depositors and loan applicants.
Issue Resolution: Act as the final escalation point for complex customer operational issues, ensuring swift and fair resolution.
Process Automation: Identify opportunities to deploy technology to automate manual teller or transfer processes, reducing the risk of human error.
Qualifications and Skills:
Professional Profile
Education: B.Sc. or HND in Banking & Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of core banking operations experience. Previous experience in a Microfinance Bank (MfB) or a Commercial Bank is essential.
Technical IQ: Proficiency in using Core Banking Applications (CBA) and a deep understanding of Lagos banking clearing cycles.
Core Competencies
Leadership: Proven ability to manage a diverse team of tellers, customer service officers, and vault managers.
