Job Description:

JR Group is seeking a high-caliber Group Business Development Head to serve as the primary growth architect for our key subsidiaries, Jake Riley and Zigma. This is a senior-level mandate for a strategic "rainmaker" who can navigate the complex corridors of the Nigerian Oil & Gas industry to secure high-value contracts and institutional partnerships.

You will be responsible for the end-to-end growth engine of the group—from high-level strategy and IOC relationship management to the technical precision of bid governance. If you have a track record of winning multi-million Naira contracts (₦100M+) and possess an elite network within the indigenous E&P and government agency space, we invite you to lead our commercial evolution.

Requirements:

1. Strategic Growth & Pipeline Architecture

  • Group Strategy: Develop and execute a unified business development strategy that aligns Jake Riley and Zigma’s capabilities with emerging market opportunities.

  • Pipeline Command: Build and manage a robust, qualified pipeline, ensuring CRM discipline and accurate revenue forecasting for the Managing Director.

  • Market Intelligence: Proactively track competitor activities and industry shifts to guide group positioning and pricing strategies.

2. High-Stakes Bid & Tender Management

  • Tender Governance: Lead the end-to-end bid management process for significant opportunities, ensuring compliance with NipeX and other Nigerian Oil & Gas regulatory requirements.

  • Proposal Leadership: Coordinate with practice heads and tender specialists to develop winning, commercially sound proposals for complex engineering and professional service contracts.

  • Commercial Acumen: Collaborate with business units to develop competitive pricing models that balance profitability with market winning-potential.

3. Elite Relationship & Team Management

  • Stakeholder Diplomacy: Build and maintain high-level relationships with decision-makers within IOCs, indigenous E&Ps, and relevant government agencies.

  • Team Leadership: Direct and mentor a geographically dispersed BD team, including Regional Executives and Tender Specialists, fostering a culture of high performance.

  • Brand Representation: Serve as the face of JR Group at major industry events and high-stakes client negotiations.

Qualifications and Skills:

Professional Profile

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree required; MBA is highly preferred.

  • Experience: 10+ years of progressive experience in B2B business development or sales leadership.

  • Sector IQ: Significant experience within the Oil & Gas, Engineering, or Professional Services sectors.

  • The "Win" Record: Proven track record of securing major contracts valued at ₦100M+.

Technical & Behavioral Competencies

  • Networking Power: An existing, active network among IOCs, indigenous E&Ps, and Nigerian government agencies.

  • Tender Mastery: Deep understanding of the Nigerian Oil & Gas tender/bid landscape.

  • Negotiation: Exceptional closing skills with the ability to navigate complex contract terms.

  • Mobility: Willingness to travel extensively across regional hubs to close deals.
