Job Description:
We are seeking a visionary and dynamic General Manager (GM) to provide strategic leadership and operational oversight across our diversified portfolio of business units. This is a high-impact role requiring a leader who can navigate the technical rigors of Oil & Gas, the high-velocity demands of Quick-Service Restaurants (QSR) and Retail, and the service excellence required in Hospitality.
As the GM, you will be the primary architect of our growth in Jos, responsible for ensuring financial sustainability, operational excellence, and brand consistency across all subsidiaries. Your mission is to translate high-level board objectives into measurable, profitable results while mentoring a multidisciplinary team. Requirements:
1. Strategic Business Architecture & Growth
Growth Strategy: Develop and execute long-term business plans and market penetration strategies to expand our footprint in the Nigerian market.
Investment Advisory: Provide data-driven recommendations to the CEO and Board regarding new investment opportunities, partnerships, and pilot projects.
Diversification: Champion innovation and technology integration, including ERP and POS systems, to streamline our multi-sector value chain.
2. Multi-Sector Operational Excellence
Operational Oversight: Supervise the daily operations of diverse units: fuel retail, automobile servicing, retail marts, hospitality, and bakeries.
SOP Governance: Streamline and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to reduce waste, improve productivity, and ensure identical brand experiences across all outlets.
Quality & Safety: Oversee strict adherence to hygiene, quality control, and HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) standards, particularly in food services and oil and gas operations.
3. Financial Stewardship & Performance Analytics
P&L Management: Own the annual budgets and forecasts, monitoring financial performance reports to ensure aggressive revenue growth and disciplined cost control.
Capital Efficiency: Approve capital expenditures (CAPEX) and manage resources to ensure maximum Return on Investment (ROI).
Business Intelligence: Utilize operational analytics and BI insights to identify risks, spot trends, and drive continuous improvement.
Qualifications and Skills:
Professional Profile
Education: Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Business, Finance, or Economics. An MBA or certifications such as PMP, NIM, or CIPM are highly advantageous.
Experience: 8–12 years of managerial experience in a multi-sector organization. Preference is given to candidates with strong backgrounds in Oil & Gas, Retail, or Hospitality.
Regulatory IQ: Deep understanding of the Nigerian business environment and statutory compliance requirements.
