Job Description:

We are seeking a high-caliber and analytically rigorous Financial Controller (FINCON) to anchor our finance operations in the Abuja CBD. In the high-stakes environment of a reputable financial institution, success is defined by "Regulatory Sovereignty", the ability to harmonize complex account reconciliations with the strategic foresight required to drive business decisions. This role is designed for a "Fiscal Architect" with at least 4 years of experience who can blend "Forensic Accounting Precision" with the "Analytical Agility" required to interpret market data and provide executive-level recommendations.

Requirements:

1. Ledger Sovereignty & Financial Reporting

• Reporting Architecture: Prepare and review high-fidelity financial statements and monthly reports that reflect the institution’s health with millimetric accuracy.

• Transaction Governance: Manage and reconcile complex financial transactions across various accounts, ensuring a "Source of Truth" for all institutional data.

• Accuracy Oversight: Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and all underlying accounting records in line with international financial reporting standards (IFRS).

2. Regulatory Compliance & Risk Mitigation

• Statutory Fidelity: Ensure total compliance with all industry-specific regulatory requirements and local financial laws (CBN, FIRS, etc.).

• Internal Control Engineering: Implement and monitor robust internal controls to prevent fraud, minimize errors, and ensure the security of institutional assets.

• Audit Support: Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external audits, ensuring all financial documentation is audit-ready and transparent.

3. Strategic Analytics & Business Intelligence

• Data Synthesis: Analyze complex financial data to identify trends, cost-saving opportunities, and revenue drivers.

• Executive Advisory: Provide data-backed recommendations to senior management to guide investment decisions and long-term strategic planning.

• Cross-Functional Synergy: Collaborate with diverse teams to align financial goals with operational activities, driving overall institutional efficiency.

Qualifications and Skills:

Professional Profile

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Experience: Minimum of 4 years of robust experience in accounting or finance within the financial services sector.

• Technical Savvy: High proficiency in modern financial software and the Microsoft Office Suite.

• Certifications: Professional certification (e.g., ICAN, ACCA) is a significant advantage.
