We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Description:

  • PayInvert is an ambitious fintech company on a mission to simplify digital payments, drive financial access, and unlock inclusive economic participation in Nigeria.
  • As we scale into new verticals, we are building a world-class finance team that will anchor operational excellence, strategic growth, and investor confidence.
  • We are seeking a commercially astute and analytical Finance Manager with strong experience in investment banking or corporate finance, alongside core finance operations, to lead our finance function.
  • The Finance Manager will serve as a strategic financial leader within PayInvert, combining solid accounting expertise with corporate finance and investment banking insights.
  • The ideal candidate is a chartered accountant, lives in Abuja, and has a proven track record in managing financial operations, investor reporting, financial modeling, and fundraising support.
  • You will be responsible for driving financial planning and analysis, ensuring regulatory compliance, and positioning the company for scale and capital efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Financial Leadership
    • Lead the development of financial models, business plans, and investment proposals for internal decision-making and external fundraising.
    • Provide insights and recommendations to support executive decisions, capital structuring, and market expansion strategies.
    • Work closely with the CEO on investor relations, board reporting, and pitch materials.
  • Financial Reporting & Control
    • Oversee day-to-day financial operations including accounting, budgeting, reporting, and financial controls.
    • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
    • Design and implement robust internal control systems to safeguard assets and ensure transparency.
  • Corporate Finance & Investment Management
    • Support capital raising activities (debt, equity, and hybrid instruments) and liaise with investors, banks, and financial advisors.
    • Conduct business valuations, scenario planning, and market research to support growth initiatives.
    • Analyze capital expenditure proposals and ROI on strategic initiatives.
  • Cash Flow & Treasury Management
    • Monitor cash flow, working capital, and liquidity; prepare forecasts to support business continuity and investment plans.
    • Manage relationships with banks and financial institutions for credit lines, treasury products, and FX.
  • Regulatory Compliance & Tax Management
    • Ensure compliance with all statutory obligations including FIRS, PENCOM, PAYE, VAT, and other regulatory requirements.
    • Coordinate audits, tax filings, and financial due diligence processes.
  • Team Leadership & Collaboration
    • Manage and mentor junior finance and accounting staff, ensuring high standards and a continuous learning culture.
    • Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, product, and strategy teams to support financial alignment.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field.
  • Must be a Chartered Accountant (ICAN or ACCA).
  • Minimum of 5 – 7 years’ experience, including at least 2–3 years in investment banking, corporate finance, or financial advisory.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel-based financial modeling, pitch decks, and transaction structuring.
  • Proven track record in financial planning, reporting, and managing audits.
  • Experience working in a fintech, startup, or financial institution is a strong advantage.
  • Must be based in Abuja or willing to relocate immediately.
