Job Description:

We are seeking a proactive and physically active Field Officer to join our operational team in Abuja. This is a frontline role that bridges the gap between public health policy and community-level execution. You will be the primary operative responsible for mapping premises, delivering critical legal notices, and capturing field data that drives our environmental health strategies.

Your mission is to ensure 100% coverage of your assigned zone within the FCT. You will be tasked with navigating diverse neighborhoods, engaging with residents and business owners, and using digital tools to report real-time progress. Requirements:

1. Digital Field Data Collection

  • Mobile Geospatial Mapping: Use mobile data collection apps to accurately capture premises information, coordinates, and health indicators.

  • Real-Time Verification: Ensure that all data points entered into the system are verified and free of errors before submission.

  • Integrity Management: Maintain the security and confidentiality of all data collected in the field.

2. Enforcement & Notice Dispatch

  • Demand Notice Distribution: Ensure the timely and physical delivery of demand notices to all commercial and residential premises within the assigned FCT zone.

  • Evidence Management: Maintain a photographic or signed log of all delivered notices to serve as proof of service.

  • Conflict Resolution: Handle initial inquiries or resistance from the public with professional communication and a thorough understanding of the regulations being enforced.

3. Reporting & Logistics

  • Daily Performance Logs: Maintain meticulous records of work completed and submit daily/weekly progress reports to the Team Lead.

  • Equipment Stewardship: Ensure all mobile tools and technical equipment provided are well-maintained and charged for daily field operations.

  • Deadlines: Meet strict daily quotas for premise visits and data submissions to ensure project timelines are met.

Qualifications and Skills:

Professional Profile

  • Education: ND, HND, or B.Sc. in Environmental Health, Public Health, or a related discipline.

  • Experience: Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience in field data collection or community mobilization.

  • Tech IQ: High proficiency in using mobile apps (e.g., ODK, KoboToolbox, or proprietary GIS apps).

Core Competencies

  • Physical Resilience: Ability to work on your feet and commute independently across different districts of the FCT.

  • Communication: Strong verbal skills to engage the public; knowledge of local languages (Hausa, Gbagyi, etc.) is a significant advantage.

  • Attention to Detail: Precision in capturing house numbers, street names, and owner details to prevent administrative errors.
