Job Description:

  • To develop and deliver technical and application training programs for painters, contractors, dealers, and internal sales teams—enhancing product knowledge, application quality, and brand loyalty for the company’s Decorative Paints in Nigeria.

 

Department: Technical & Training / Decorative Sales
Reports To: Technical & Training Lead

 

Key Responsibilities
Training Delivery & Execution
Conduct regular training sessions for:

  • Painters and applicator.
  • Internal sales and technical teams.
  • Deliver both classroom and on-site practical training (including demo applications).
  • Support training programs at the Inspiration Centres/the Shop and customer locations.

 

Painter Engagement & Loyalty Development:

  • Support painter loyalty programs and certification initiatives.
  • Build relationships with painter associations and contractors across Nigeria.
  • Act as a brand ambassador to promote m best practices in the market.

 

Technical Support & Application Guidance:

  • Provide on-site technical advice for decorative projects (residential & commercial).
  • Assist in resolving application issues
  • Ensure correct product specification and usage.

 

Quality & HSE Compliance:

  • Promote safe painting practices and compliance with HSE standards.
  • Ensure proper use of PPE during training and site demonstrations.
  • Educate applicators on environmentally responsible practices.

 

Market Intelligence & Feedback:

  • Gather insights from painters, dealers, and contractors.
  • Provide feedback to sales and product teams on:
  • Product performance
  • Market needs
  • Competitor activities.

 

Reporting & KPI Tracking:

  • Maintain records of training sessions, attendance, and feedback.
  • Track KPIs such as:
    • Number of painters trained
    • Training satisfaction scores
    • Reduction in complaints / application failures
    • Submit monthly reports to management.

Requirements:

  • BSc Degree in Education in Chemistry, Engineering, Building Technology, or related fields
  • 1 - 2 years’ experience in paints, construction, or related industry
  • Strong knowledge of decorative paint systems and application techniques
  • Experience in training, coaching, or technical support is an advantage.

 

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong presentation and communication skills
  • Practical hands-on painting/application skills
  • Ability to train semi-skilled and skilled workers
  • Good interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting ability
  • Willingness to travel across regions in Nigeria.

 

Additional Competencies:

  • Fluency in English + local languages (Yoruba, Hausa, Igbo) is a strong advantage
  • Understanding of local substrates (cement plaster, POP, etc.) is critical
  • Experience working with painter associations is highly valuable.

Salary

N200,000 - N350,000 monthly.
