Job Description:

Client Relationship Management:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of commercial clients.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships based on trust and mutual understanding.
  • Proactively engage with clients to understand their businesses, financial goals, and challenges.
  • Anticipate client needs and provide proactive advice and solutions.
  • Ensure timely and effective resolution of client issues and inquiries.

Business Development & Sales:

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within existing client relationships.
  • Acquire new commercial clients through networking, referrals, and targeted outreach.
  • Present and sell a range of the bank's commercial banking products and services (e.g., loans, trade finance, cash management, treasury services).
  • Develop and execute client-specific strategies to achieve revenue and growth targets.
  • Prepare and present compelling proposals and presentations to clients.

Financial Analysis & Solutions:

  • Conduct thorough financial analysis of clients' businesses to understand their needs.
  • Structure and negotiate customized financial solutions that meet client requirements and align with the bank's risk appetite.
  • Monitor client financial performance and creditworthiness.
  • Ensure adherence to the bank's credit policies and procedures.

Risk Management & Compliance:

  • Adhere to the bank's policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with client relationships.
  • Ensure proper documentation and compliance with KYC (Know Your Customer) and AML (Anti-Money Laundering) regulations.

Internal Collaboration:

  • Collaborate effectively with other internal teams (e.g., credit, operations, product specialists) to deliver seamless client service and solutions.
  • Provide input and feedback on product development and service improvements based on client needs.

Reporting & Administration:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records and transaction details.
  • Prepare regular reports on client activities, sales pipelines, and portfolio performance.
  • Contribute to team meetings and share best practices

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Banking, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of proven experience in relationship management within a commercial banking environment in Nigeria.
  • Strong understanding of commercial banking products, services, and lending practices.
  • Excellent financial analysis and credit assessment skills.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and building strong client relationships.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Proficiency in relevant banking software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with the Nigerian business landscape and regulatory environment.
