Job Description:
We are seeking a results-driven Cooperative Marketer to drive the growth and sustainability of our cooperative society in Abuja. This role is designed for a professional who understands that cooperative success relies on the synergy between active membership and high-quality credit disbursement.
You will be responsible for expanding our member base, promoting financial products, and managing the end-to-end credit lifecycle—from application to recovery. If you have 3–5 years of experience in lending, a deep understanding of cooperative principles, and a talent for building trusted financial relationships, we want you to join our team.
Requirements:
1. Membership Acquisition & Relationship Management
Growth Strategy: Identify and recruit new members into the cooperative through targeted outreach and value-based marketing.
Product Education: Sensitize potential and existing members on the benefits of cooperative schemes, savings plans, and investment opportunities.
Retention: Maintain a high level of member engagement by providing personalized financial advice and ensuring high service standards.
2. Credit Administration & Risk Mitigation
Lending Lifecycle: Manage the end-to-end credit process, including initial screenings, loan interviews, and creditworthiness assessments.
Credit Analysis: Evaluate loan applications against established criteria, ensuring that all disbursements align with the cooperative’s risk appetite.
Portfolio Monitoring: Track repayment schedules and lead recovery efforts for delinquent accounts to ensure a healthy Portfolio at Risk (PAR).
3. Operational Compliance & Reporting
Regulatory Adherence: Ensure all marketing and lending activities comply with the bye-laws of the cooperative and relevant regulatory frameworks.
Documentation: Maintain meticulous records of member files, loan agreements, and collateral documentation.
Performance Reporting: Prepare periodic reports on membership growth, loan disbursement volumes, and repayment performance for management review.
Qualifications and Skills:
Professional Profile
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
Experience: 3–5 years of proven experience specifically in Lending, Credit Administration, or Microfinance marketing.
Knowledge: Strong understanding of Cooperative Principles (voluntary membership, democratic control, and member economic participation).
Core Competencies
Analytical Ability: Proficiency in assessing financial statements and calculating debt-to-income ratios.
Communication: Exceptional persuasive and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging diverse groups of people.
Integrity: A high level of ethical standards, particularly in handling member funds and sensitive financial data.
Location Preference
Residency: Due to the operational focus in the FCT, applicants must reside around Kubwa, Dutse, Gwarinpa, Bwari, or Zuba environs.
