Job Description:
We are seeking a high-caliber Business Manager to drive growth and manage relationships within our Public Sector Directorate. In this role, you are the primary conduit between the Bank and government agencies, parastatals, and public institutions. Your mission is to provide world-class relationship management while identifying opportunities to deploy banking solutions that solve the unique financial challenges of the public sector.
Based in Jos, you will lead the charge in client retention, market expansion, and product innovation. If you are a seasoned banker with 6+ years of experience in marketing or business development and possess the political acumen and professional discipline required for public sector engagement, we invite you to lead this critical portfolio.
Requirements:
1. Relationship Architecture & Client Retention
Primary Service Liaison: Act as the daily executive contact for all public sector clients, ensuring a "zero-friction" service experience.
Retention Strategy: Actively design and execute strategies to deepen existing relationships and prevent client attrition.
Service Excellence: Ensure that all government accounts and payroll systems (where applicable) are maintained with the highest efficiency and accuracy.
2. Market Intelligence & Product Innovation
Usage Analysis: Conduct periodic account reviews to track usage trends and identify unmet needs within specific government departments.
Product Development: Initiate and champion the creation of bespoke financial products (e.g., collection solutions, specialized loans) tailored to public sector mandates.
Market Expansion: Aggressively market the Bank’s suite of products to meet the evolving financial goals of public institutions in the Plateau region.
3. Data Integrity & Information Security
Information Stewardship: Maintain the security of all entrusted information in strict compliance with the Bank’s Information Security Handbook.
Data Maintenance: Track and maintain accurate customer data, ensuring that all KYC (Know Your Customer) and compliance records for public entities are up to date.
Reporting: Provide detailed business reports to the Regional/Directorate head, highlighting growth opportunities and service metrics.
Qualifications and Skills:
Professional Profile
Education: Minimum of an HND (Upper Credit) or B.Sc. (2.2) in any discipline.
Experience: Minimum of 6 years of relevant banking experience, specifically in marketing or business development.
Added Advantage: Possession of an MBA, ACCA, or other relevant postgraduate qualifications.
Location: Must be based in or willing to relocate to Jos, Plateau State.
