Job Description:
- Develop and implement business development strategies to grow the institution’s loan portfolio, deposit base, and client network within the microfinance sector.
- Identify and acquire new clients—individuals, SMEs, traders, and microbusinesses—through field engagement, market mapping, and targeted outreach.
- Maintain and build strong relationships with existing customers to ensure retention, upselling, and cross-selling of financial products.
- Conduct market research to identify emerging opportunities, customer needs, and competitive gaps within the microfinance industry.
- Develop and manage partnerships with local businesses, trade associations, agents, and community groups to expand market reach.
- Ensure timely processing of loan applications by coordinating with credit and operations teams.
- Monitor client loan performance, follow up on repayments, and support recovery efforts where necessary.
- Prepare periodic sales performance reports, market insights, and projections for management decision-making.
- Promote financial literacy and awareness among prospective customers through outreach and community engagement programs.
- Represent the institution at market activations, financial inclusion programs, and local events to drive brand visibility.
Requirements:
- Strong understanding of micro-lending processes, deposit mobilization strategies, client appraisal, and credit risk.
- Proven track record of meeting sales targets and expanding customer portfolios.
- Excellent relationship management, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work in field-intensive roles and build strong community and market presence.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and market trends.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and customer-focused mindset.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 – 5 years experience in business development, sales, or client acquisition within the microfinance or financial services sector.
