Job Description:
We are seeking a high-caliber Business Development Manager (BDM) to serve as a key architect of our institutional growth. In the insurance industry, business development is not merely about sales; it is about building trust and engineering long-term risk management solutions for complex client needs. This role is designed for a "Strategic Closer"—someone with a minimum of 5 years of proven experience who can navigate the technicalities of insurance products while expanding our market share.
Your mission is to own the growth engine of the firm. You will be responsible for identifying high-value opportunities, nurturing a robust network of brokers and partners, and presenting sophisticated business plans to executive leadership. If you have a deep understanding of the insurance landscape and the negotiation grit to close large-scale institutional contracts, we want you to lead our expansion.
Requirements:
1. Market Penetration & Opportunity Capture
Strategic Prospecting: Identify and pursue untapped business opportunities within the insurance sector, including life, non-life, and specialized risk products.
Institutional Sales: Lead the end-to-end sales lifecycle, from initial lead generation and risk assessment to policy finalization and revenue collection.
Partnership Management: Develop and maintain high-level relationships with brokers, corporate partners, and key industry stakeholders to ensure a steady pipeline of referrals.
2. Strategic Intelligence & Planning
Market Research: Conduct rigorous analysis of industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitor movements to identify emerging growth areas.
Proposals & Planning: Prepare and present high-quality commercial proposals and comprehensive business plans to senior management, ensuring alignment with corporate financial goals.
Revenue Governance: Drive sales strategies specifically designed to meet or exceed annual revenue targets and increase overall market share.
3. Cross-Functional Synergy
Client Retention & Acquisition: Collaborate with the Marketing and Operations teams to design customer-centric acquisition strategies and retention programs.
Feedback Loop: Act as the voice of the market, relaying client feedback to the product development team to help refine insurance offerings.
Qualifications and Skills:
Professional Profile
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in Business Development, specifically within the Insurance Industry.
Competencies: Strong strategic mindset with a demonstrable track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Insurance, Finance, or a related field.
