Job Description:

  • Lead brand discovery sessions and stakeholder interviews.
  • Conduct market, competitor, and audience research to identify gaps and opportunities.
  • Define brand positioning, messaging, values, and differentiation.
  • Develop brand strategy documents, including brand essence, tone of voice, and audience personas.
  • Create strategic moodboards to guide design direction.
  • Collaborate with designers to ensure strategy is reflected visually and consistently.
  • Support clients with clarity on brand application across touchpoints.
  • Provide strategic recommendations for brand growth, communication, and cohesion.

 

Key Deliverables:

  • Brand Discovery Report.
  • Audience Personas.
  • Positioning Statement & Messaging Framework.
  • Brand Strategy Document (values, voice, tone, essence, promise).
  • Moodboard(s) for design direction.
  • Strategic recommendations summary.

Requirements:

  • Clear communication and client empathy.
  • Strong analytical and conceptual thinking.
  • Ability to simplify complex ideas for small business owners.
  • Professionalism, reliability, and openness to feedback.
  • Capacity to work within structured workflows.

 

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience working with small businesses or startups.
  • Previous work in branding studios or creative agencies.
  • Ability to lead discovery calls independently.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Strong brand strategy foundation (discovery, messaging, positioning).
  • Ability to conduct qualitative and quantitative research.
  • Experience creating brand personas and messaging systems.
  • Understanding of design principles and how strategy informs visuals.
  • Ability to write clearly, concisely, and strategically.

 

Tools:

  • Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Forms), plus any preferred or project-specific tools relevant to research and documentation.
  • Additional tools may be introduced and discussed as needed per project.

 

Availability Expectations:

  • Must be available to join scheduled client discovery sessions.
  • Flexible working hours, but timely delivery is expected.
  • Ability to take on projects on a rolling basis depending on client demand.
