Job Description:

We are seeking a high-energy, detail-oriented Assistant Production Manager to drive daily excellence on our manufacturing floor. In this role, you will be the tactical engine of our production process—managing real-time output, coordinating labor, and ensuring that raw material flow perfectly aligns with production schedules. You will bridge the gap between high-level planning and floor-level execution, ensuring that hourly quotas are met without compromising safety or quality. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who thrives in fast-paced environments and possesses the analytical skills to manage inventory and minimize downtime.

Requirements:

1. Production Floor Leadership & Output Optimization

  • Daily Operations Oversight: Direct the day-to-day activities of the production team, ensuring that all workstations are optimized for maximum efficiency.

  • Quota Management: Monitor and enforce hourly and daily output targets, identifying bottlenecks in real-time and reallocating resources to maintain flow.

  • Quality & Safety Compliance: Ensure that all floor activities adhere to strict quality control standards and safety protocols to minimize waste and accidents.

2. Inventory & Material Synchronization

  • Material Tracking: Rigorously track raw material consumption to ensure the production line is never halted due to stock-outs.

  • WIP & Finished Goods Management: Monitor Work-In-Progress (WIP) and finished goods levels, ensuring accurate reporting and timely transfer to the warehouse.

  • Input Coordination: Collaborate with the procurement and warehouse teams to synchronize the arrival of inputs with the production schedule.

3. Performance Reporting & Process Improvement

  • Data Logging: Maintain accurate logs of production metrics, labor hours, and machine downtime for management review.

  • Root Cause Analysis: Investigate any deviations from production quotas and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

  • Team Development: Support the training and supervision of floor workers, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Qualifications and Skills:

Experience & Background

  • Tenure: 2–4 years of experience in a production, manufacturing, or industrial supervisory role.

  • Inventory Knowledge: Proven experience tracking raw materials and using inventory management systems (ERP/MRP).

  • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to manage diverse teams in a high-pressure, quota-driven environment.

Technical & Soft Skills

  • Numerical Literacy: Ability to calculate output rates, waste percentages, and material requirements on the fly.

  • Problem-Solving: A proactive mindset with the ability to "think on your feet" when machinery or logistics issues arise.

  • Communication: Clear, authoritative, and respectful communication skills to lead a large workforce effectively.

Salary

₦200,000 - ₦300,000/month
