Job Description:
We are seeking a high-caliber, disciplined Project Supervisor to oversee large-scale operations and installations at our Ajaokuta Plant. In this critical role, you will be the primary link between project strategy and on-site execution. You will be responsible for creating rigorous daily and weekly work plans, managing contractor performance, and ensuring that every activity adheres to the highest engineering and safety standards. This role requires a "boots-on-the-ground" leader who can maximize workforce productivity while maintaining uncompromising standards for safety and quality in a complex manufacturing environment.
Requirements:
1. Operational Planning & Execution Excellence
Strategic Work Plans: Create and sequence detailed daily/weekly activity plans that identify all critical milestones and execution timelines.
Scope Stewardship: Fully understand the project scope to set clear priorities for contractors, ensuring all tasks align with the approved project roadmap.
Resource Optimization: Coordinate essential resources, including material handling equipment (MHE), lifting requirements, and civil supports, to ensure maximum utilization and zero downtime.
2. Technical Supervision & Quality Control
Standards Enforcement: Monitor all construction and installation activities to ensure 100% alignment with electro-mechanical, civil, and architectural engineering specifications.
Shutdown Management: Lead complex shutdown operations in coordination with user departments, strictly following isolation procedures and LOTO (Lock-Out, Tag-Out) protocols to meet timelines.
OEM Coordination: Manage the integration and commissioning phases in direct collaboration with OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) technicians.
3. Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Leadership
Safety Governance: Conduct daily toolbox meetings and safety briefings; issue work permits, assess site risks, and implement immediate mitigation strategies.
Site Discipline: Enforce the strict use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and specialized work-at-height protocols across the entire contractor workforce.
Abnormality Escalation: Maintain a direct line to the Project Manager, providing real-time alerts on any deviations in progress, safety risks, or resource shortages.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education & Experience
Academic: Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
Tenure: Minimum of 5 years of experience within the Manufacturing or Building Materials industry.
Technical Breadth: High technical awareness of civil, electro-mechanical, and architectural works within a factory setting.
Core Competencies
Productivity Management: Proven ability to increase workforce output and manage multiple task sections simultaneously.
Planning Software: Proficiency in project management and scheduling tools.
Resilience: Willingness to work extended hours during critical project phases or complex plant shutdowns.
Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to direct contractors and influence stakeholders effectively.
