Job Description:
We are looking for a meticulous and proactive Accounts Payable Officer to manage the payables process at LifeBank. In this role, you will be the engine behind our financial commitments, ensuring that our vendors, partners, and service providers are paid accurately and on time.
By maintaining strong financial controls and healthy vendor relationships, you will directly support our mission-critical operations in healthcare delivery, procurement, and logistics. Requirements:
Invoice Management & Processing
Verification: Review, verify, and process vendor invoices, ensuring all documentation is correct and internal approvals are secured.
System Logging: Log all approved payables accurately and promptly into Xero (our accounting system).
Payment Execution: Prepare and execute payments via bank transfers and various payment platforms, ensuring they are completed on schedule.
Operational Support & Reconciliation
High-Volume Management: Handle time-sensitive payments specifically related to medical supplies, logistics, and daily operations.
Reconciliation: Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies swiftly to maintain trust and service continuity.
Reporting: Track all outstanding payables and provide regular, clear reports to the Finance Manager.
Compliance & Audit
Tax Support: Manage tax-related processes, including the deduction and documentation of Withholding Tax (WHT).
Financial Closing: Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities to ensure financial accuracy.
Audit Readiness: Support internal and external audits by providing the necessary schedules and documentation.
Policy Adherence: Ensure every transaction complies with company policies, regulatory standards, and donor requirements where applicable.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Experience: 2–4 years of professional experience in accounts payable or a similar finance role.
Preferred: Experience in a high-growth startup, healthcare, or logistics sector.
Technical Skills:
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Experience with accounting/ERP systems (Xero experience is a significant advantage).
Familiarity with modern payment platforms and reconciliation tools.
Professional Certification: ICAN/ACCA (completed or in progress) is preferred.
