Job Description:

We are seeking a smart, detail-oriented, and responsible Accounting Officer to manage our daily financial and inventory operations. This role is central to maintaining the integrity of our sales data and ensuring that every transaction—from supplier payments to sales representative reconciliations is documented with precision. You will be responsible for bridging the gap between physical inventory and financial records, ensuring that our bank transactions and daily sales are always in balance.

The ideal candidate is a disciplined record-keeper who is proficient in Microsoft Excel and thrives in a fast-paced environment where accuracy is non-negotiable.

Requirements:

Daily Operations & Record Keeping

  • Inventory Management: Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date inventory records, tracking the movement of goods alongside daily sales.

  • Transaction Documentation: Accurately document all daily sales and payments, ensuring every entry reflects the true state of business operations.

  • Banking Oversight: Maintain updated and reconciled records of all bank transactions to ensure real-time financial visibility.

Reconciliation & Supplier Management

  • Sales Reconciliation: Perform daily reconciliations of sales figures against payments received from both customers and sales representatives.

  • Supplier Tracking: Monitor and track payments made to suppliers against the actual goods supplied to ensure there are no discrepancies in the procurement cycle.

  • Discrepancy Resolution: Identify and investigate any mismatches in accounts or inventory, resolving them promptly to maintain data integrity.

Reporting & Administration

  • Report Preparation: Organize and prepare daily, weekly, or monthly financial reports and documentation as required by management.

  • Process Compliance: Ensure all accounting activities adhere to internal control standards and standard operating procedures.

Qualifications and Skills:

Education & Experience

  • Degree: B.Sc or HND in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in accounting or bookkeeping.

  • Growth Mindset: We are open to candidates who are willing to learn and undergo specific training to excel in this role.

Technical & Professional Skills

  • Excel Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel is compulsory (formulae, formatting, and data entry).

  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional record-keeping ability with a focus on accuracy and thoroughness.

  • Autonomy: Proven ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
