Job Description:

We are seeking a competent and detail-oriented Account Officer to join our finance department. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the financial integrity of our high-volume FMCG operations. You will manage end-to-end accounting functions, from meticulous record-keeping and reconciliations to sophisticated financial reporting.

The ideal candidate is an analytical professional who combines a deep understanding of accounting principles with advanced technical skills in Microsoft Excel and the professional rigor of a Chartered Accountant.

Requirements:

Financial Accounting & Record Keeping

• Record Maintenance: Prepare and maintain comprehensive financial records ensuring all entries align with established accounting standards.

• Transaction Monitoring: Oversee daily financial transactions, including the rigorous monitoring of receivables and payables to optimize working capital.

• Internal Controls: Ensure all accounting activities comply with internal control frameworks and standard operating procedures.

Reconciliation & Data Management

• Accuracy Assurance: Perform regular account reconciliations to ensure the absolute accuracy of financial data across all ledgers.

• Excel-Driven Analysis: Utilize advanced Excel functions to manage large datasets, automate reporting workflows, and perform complex financial modeling.

• Data Integrity: Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records promptly to prevent operational leakages.

Reporting & Financial Analysis

• Management Reporting: Generate periodic financial and management reports that provide actionable insights into company performance.

• Planning Support: Assist the finance team with budgeting, forecasting, and detailed financial analysis to guide business strategy.

• FMCG Metrics: Track and report on key industry-specific metrics, ensuring high levels of accuracy in high-transaction environments.

Qualifications and Skills:

Education & Professional Status

• Certification: ICAN certification is mandatory.

• Degree: Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related numerate field.

Experience & Technical Skills

• Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in an accounting or finance-related role.

• Excel Proficiency: Must be highly proficient in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, advanced formulas, and financial reporting automation).

• Knowledge Base: Strong command of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and reconciliation techniques.
