Job Description:

We are seeking a high-integrity, detail-oriented Accountant to serve as the backbone of our financial operations. In a fast-paced business environment, the accuracy of our books is the foundation of our strategic growth.

Your mission is to go beyond simple bookkeeping; you will be the guardian of our fiscal compliance, ensuring that all statutory obligations (VAT, PAYE, WHT) are met with precision and that our internal controls remain airtight. If you are an analytical professional who takes pride in "to-the-penny" accuracy and has a deep understanding of the Nigerian tax landscape, we want you to manage our financial ecosystem.

Requirements:

1. Financial Governance & Diagnostic Reporting

• General Ledger Mastery: Maintain impeccable financial records and bookkeeping to ensure a clear audit trail.

• Strategic Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports that provide management with the clarity needed for data-driven decisions.

• Cash Flow Stewardship: Monitor liquidity and conduct regular bank reconciliations to ensure the company’s accounts are always accurate and synchronized.

2. Tax Compliance & Regulatory Liaison

• Statutory Rigor: Prepare and file all mandatory remittances, including VAT, PAYE, and WHT, ensuring zero penalties from tax authorities.

• Audit Readiness: Implement and monitor internal controls that ensure transparency, and lead the preparation of documentation for both internal and external audits.

• Payroll Administration: Manage the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring staff salaries are accurate, timely, and compliant with all statutory deductions.

3. Expense Management & Asset Control

• Operational Discipline: Monitor company expenditures, manage petty cash, and enforce strict approval workflows for all expenses.

• Asset Tracking: Maintain a comprehensive fixed asset register, tracking depreciation and the financial health of company resources.

• Internal Controls: Establish mechanisms to prevent fraud, eliminate waste, and ensure maximum accountability in every financial process.

Qualifications and Skills:

Professional Profile

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Experience: 1–2 years of professional accounting experience.

• Technical Mastery: High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and modern Accounting Software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero).

• Regulatory Knowledge: Strong, up-to-date knowledge of Nigerian tax regulations and IFRS standards.
