We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Description:

• We are hiring a detail-oriented Accountant for a licensed unit microfinance bank.
• The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience within a unit microfinance bank and a strong understanding of financial reporting, internal controls, and regulatory compliance.
• This role requires someone currently working in the microfinance space who can effectively manage financial records, statutory remittances, and reporting in line with CBN guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records and general ledger postings
• Prepare monthly and annual financial reports
• Handle statutory remittances (PAYE, VAT, WHT, pensions)
• Ensure compliance with CBN regulations and internal policies
• Perform account reconciliations and support audit processes
• Manage payroll and support financial control processes

Requirements:

• BSc / HND in Accounting or related field
• 2–5 years experience in a unit microfinance bank (mandatory)
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, tax, and compliance
• ICAN certification (or in view) is an added advantage
• Experience with core banking systems is a plus
• High level of accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail.
