Job Description:

We are seeking a high-precision Account Officer to serve as a vital pillar of our financial operations. In a healthcare environment, financial integrity directly supports patient care; this role is designed for a "Detail-Oriented Controller"—someone who understands that accurate billing, timely reconciliations, and disciplined documentation are the backbone of a successful facility.

Your mission is to ensure the absolute accuracy of our financial records. You will be responsible for the end-to-end transaction lifecycle, from issuing complex medical invoices to reconciling bank statements and managing receivables. If you possess strong numerical skills, a high level of integrity, and the ability to thrive in a structured, people-centric environment, we want you to join our finance team.

Requirements:

1. Revenue Cycle & Accounts Receivable

  • Invoicing Excellence: Prepare and issue accurate invoices for medical services, ensuring alignment with service records and pricing policies.

  • Receivables Management: Proactively track accounts receivable and manage follow-ups on outstanding payments to ensure healthy cash flow.

  • Transaction Integrity: Record, verify, and process all payments, receipts, and journal entries with "Zero-Error" precision.

2. Reconciliation & Compliance

  • Forensic Reconciliation: Perform regular reconciliations of bank statements, accounts receivable, and accounts payable to identify and resolve discrepancies immediately.

  • Audit Readiness: Maintain a rigorous filing system for all financial documentation, ensuring the facility is always prepared for internal and external audits.

  • Regulatory Governance: Ensure all financial activities comply with hospital policies, IFRS standards, and local regulatory requirements.

3. Financial Analysis & Support

  • Budgetary Support: Assist the Finance Manager in preparing budgets, conducting financial analysis, and identifying causes for budget variances.

  • Inter-departmental Collaboration: Act as a finance business partner to clinical and administrative departments to resolve account discrepancies and streamline billing workflows.

Qualifications and Skills:

Professional Profile

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.

  • Certification (Advantage): Progress toward or completion of ICAN, ACCA, or an equivalent professional body.

  • Technical Skills: High proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot tables, VLOOKUPs) and experience with accounting software.

Core Competencies

  • Analytical Skills: Ability to identify trends in financial data and resolve complex numerical discrepancies.

  • Integrity: Absolute commitment to confidentiality and ethical financial reporting.

  • Agility: Ability to prioritize high-volume tasks and meet strict monthly closing deadlines.
